It’s Neighborhood Council Elections season, so we’re partnering with the LA City Clerk’s elections team and the IgniteLA women’s leadership program to offer free candidate workshops during the month of March at locations around the City! Neighborhood Council Elections or Outreach Committee members; current board members running for re-election; or those interested in joining their Council for the first time can all benefit from the material taught in these classes. Two different types of workshops are being offered; both are non-partisan.

At the City Clerk/EmpowerLA workshops, you’ll learn the basics of how to create your campaign; formulate your talking points and candidate messaging; and connect with voters. City Clerk will also walk you through their online candidate registration process, and you can even sign up to run right at the workshop.

Meanwhile, the IgniteLA workshops are more focused on the intersection of gender and political candidacy. While these workshops welcome everyone, they are designed to help women discover their leadership styles, practice strengths-based planning, and develop their public speaking and campaigning skills.

Below is the schedule of all upcoming Neighborhood Council candidate workshops that have been confirmed so far. More dates are being added, so please check back on this page for additional opportunities:
