Sergio Ibarra My name is Sergio Ibarra and I am running to represent you on the Arleta Neighborhood Council. If elected I will work to improve our parks and build additional park space in our community. I will also partner with our elected officials to bring government resources and help achieve our vision of Arleta as a community that is involved, clean, safe, family oriented, well educated, green and diverse. As the current President of the Arleta Neighborhood Council, I have worked closely with my fellow board members to improve the quality of life in our Community. One of the projects that I am most proud of is the planting of 100 trees along Arleta Avenue. If elected I will listen to the concerns of our residents and work to find solutions. Cyndee Riding As a widowed single mother, I owned a home, and raised and educated my two children within the community of Arleta for 21 years. As a result of these circumstances,I opened 4 child care centers that currently employ 143 people and serve 450 children and their families within the boundaries of the Arleta Neighborhood Council. I wrote a grant in 1997 that brought state funds into our neighborhood that enabled low-income parents to work or go to school in order to become independent of government subsidies. The child care is free for those families that are eligible. I want to serve the residents of Arleta by making our community one in which we are all proud to live. Ineed your vote to do this. Eberardo Sanchez My name is Eberardo Sanchez and I am running to represent you on the Arleta Neighborhood Council. If elected, I will work with other community outreach programs and churches to bring peace and help reduce gang and drug activity amongst youth. Together with elected officials we can bring about new resources to families from the local area to help with bringing awareness and understanding on how to prevent further injustices in our community. This commitment will involve, special events targeting, drug awareness, gang prevention and intervention, family counseling, at risk youth and children’s programs. I’ve been involved in reaching out to the city of Arleta for over 10 years. I’ve organized events, fundraisers, rally’s and door to door outreach. I’ve worked with the Mayor’s Office, Parks & Recs, Communities In Schools, L.A. Bridges, The G.R.Y.D. and other City and State Programs in bettering the City of Arleta. Kelly MagallanesI work and live in Arleta. I have service on the ANC for the past 2 years. I was also the outreach chair person. I was responsible for 2 national Night Outs, and all different community events.I would like to continue my service to Arleta.

Jack Lindblad I am running for Arleta neighborhood council to continue on the neighborhood level of governance, to be accountable, transparent, with full disclosure in the advocacy, support and application of policies that build community, improve the quality of life, regain our educational excellence and competitiveness, and create a Green jobs, renewable energy economy – by continuing to contribute through my long-standing San Fernando Valley-based architecture practice, community organizing – having helped to form the Valley Glen and Panorama City neighborhood councils, running for our 39th Assembly District seat and my award-winning Panorama City Commercial Area revitalization plan approved by the City Council, signed by then Mayor Hahn and memorialized as Planning code for the community specific plan with Q conditions. My work helps stop urban sprawl, Kelo-eminent domain, and gentrification, while advancing multi-modal rapid transit. Our call is to make government responsive and frugal while rejecting bureaucratic bloat and austerity.
