Esther Glaze CANNDUEsther Glaze – My goals are to: 1. Be an advocate and a liaison for our community with city officials at City Hall. 2. To empower by educating our community of the rights we have and effective ways to exercise those rights to create a safe community, get our infrastructure (streets, sidewalks and draining) needs met, thereby improving life in our community 3. Address any other needs especially of land use in our community. We have power together. Vote for me and let us get our community working together to address our issues and concerns and create a greater community.

Cheny Dominguez – As a member of this community I have seen the necessity of having public services and programs that will help improve the well beings of families in this community. My goal as a board member is to advocate for community members but also ensure that they are part of the planning processes to improve their communities. With a growing population of youth in this community we need programs to enhance and support their future goals. We also need programs that will help senior citizens, men and women, and young adults attain resources that can help improve their daily lives. As a board member it is my obligation to communicate the request of my community and help create projects and programs that will enhance the overall health and well being of my community.

Candidate PictureLuis Manuel Fuentes – I was born, raised, and live in South Central Los Angeles. I am a graduate of San Diego State University and an ardent community stakeholder who believes my community deserves better. If given the opportunity to represent my community in the neighborhood council I look forward to working with fellow change agents to improve the living conditions of our communities.

Damond A Johnson – I am a member of the community who cares for the well being of our youth, young adults, and elders within the community. I know how important it is to enhance the education levels, healthy eating/living, better resources that will increase higher rates of employment, groups dealing with learning positive communication skills which would decrease crime rates within our youth, values which creates positive interactions and understanding due to the different cultural backgrounds. This community also needs the understanding of what the word community means and I as a board member will work strongly with other board members to ensure our community is safe by providing information on who/how to contact sanitation, street lighting/cleaning, animal control fighting to bring more resources into the community such as employment training, tutoring, and overall empowerment that will make our community a better place to live. I am glad to get involved with change.

Jose H Alvarenga – Hello, my name is Jose Alvarenga and I am running for at-large seat on the CANNDU neighborhood council. I am a chemistry teacher at Fremont High School and a daily basis witness the untapped potential available in the community. My goals are to bring resources to our community that will increase general safety, cleanliness, access to health services, and youth activities.
