Tech BullPen

The City Controller’s office is proud to announce the launch of the City’s first Civic Innovation Lab. This lab, in collaboration with HubLA and Learn Do Share, will bring together designers, developers, activists, and City government to design creative solutions to civic problems.

This is not just another meetup or hackathon – this is the beginning of developing new ways citizens can productively work with government.

We’re bringing the design process to the civic space and using open data to create solutions that further our local economy and better our communities – and we want you to help us make it happen. Join us in this forum for tech & civic leaders to collaborate and innovate with local government.

The Lab kicks off Sunday, September 14, 9:00 AM at HubLA in the Arts District, located at 830 Traction Ave. Suite 3A, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Easy access from Silver Lake, Pasadena, West LA, East LA, or just off the Metro Gold Line at the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station.

Parking: Street or Paid Lot $5 w/ validation

Event participants will:
1) Learn about the Lab, the design process, and the data
2) Identify key civic issues in need of creative solutions.
3) Craft prompts that will guide the civic innovation process.
