Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Planning 101 Workshops last month! Over 500 people came to one of the 7 workshops held around the City, to learn how LA’s project planning process works, and to ask questions about projects proposed locally. Many Neighborhood Council members attended, as well as residents, students, and representatives from businesses and organizations in the local community.
The Planning 101 Workshop series is a joint-collaborative effort between the Department of City Planning (DCP) and EmpowerLA. The free classes are open to any Angeleno interested in land use, and provide an overview of the basic elements of planning, land use, and zoning in Los Angeles. Each new Planning 101 series focuses on different aspects of LA’s planning process, but attendees always go home with valuable tips, such as when the key points for public participation and feedback on proposed projects occur.

For those who were unable to attend, Department of City Planning will soon release a tutorial video based on the presentations in this latest workshop series.
