Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 2, at 2:00am. The time change is a valuable opportunity for LADWP customers to review energy and water routines at home and in the workplace, and to seek out ways to conserve. When you “fall back” one hour on your clocks, don’t forget to make the same adjustment on your sprinklers, lighting, and programmable thermostats for optimal energy and water use!

During the cooler winter months, remember to take advantage of the sun’s warmth by opening curtains on your south-facing windows during the day and closing them at night. Consider installing a programmable thermostat that will allow you to easily change the temperature in your home when you are away — turning your thermostat back 10-15 degrees for 8 hours can save around 10% a year on your heating and cooling bills.
