Discuss NC Reform with the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners: Aug 15 (Koreatown) + Aug 20 (City Hall)

The Board of Neighborhood Commissioners’ next town hall on the LA City Council’s Neighborhood Council reform motion (CF 18-0467) is this Wednesday August 15th in Koreatown, followed by another on August 20th at City Hall. You are invited to join their conversation, and help shape the future of the NC system.

Proposed reforms include the creation of a compendium of best practices; offering training for all Planning & Land Use Committee members; a discussion of how Community Interest stakeholdership should be defined; possible institution of a systemwide minimum voting age; and allowing NCs to access shared City space, accept donations, and rollover unused funds to the next fiscal year. This is just a partial list of the suggested reforms; to see the entire proposal, please click here: http://tiny.cc/NCReform

Below are the upcoming Commission meeting dates where you will be able to share your feedback on NC reform. Can’t make it to a town hall? Please email your feedback to Commission@EmpowerLA.org
