Neighborhood Councils must have an Approved Elections Budget with general expense descriptions, preferably in detailed amounts, so Treasurers can process payments and the Election and Outreach Committees can move quickly to make the Election Outreach effective.

If a Neighborhood Council has an election expense over $2500, submit the following to EmpowerLA.funding@LACity.org and you will receive expedited assistance in approving the expense:
1) the approved Elections Budget, as noted in the Funding Update
2) Signed Board Vote Form
3) the Vendor’s invoice

Once approved by the Department, process the payment with the approval code. At the next Board meeting, submit the invoice and Funding Request Form for Board approval and include it with the Monthly Expenditure Report. Elections expenses typically have time-sensitive deadlines and the Department is committed to supporting your Election Outreach Plan.
