The City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department (EMD) has been awarded a grant to further its mission of developing emergency community readiness in Los Angeles, Using a “whole community approach,” EMD will select one Neighborhood Council to create a customized Neighborhood Emergency Plan. This community plan is for an area of 25-40 households within an NC’s boundaries. The completed Neighborhood Emergency Plan will be practiced during a full-scale exercise using the “neighbor helping neighbor” concept.

All City of Los Angeles Neighborhood Councils are eligible to apply for this exciting emergency preparedness opportunity.

The selected Neighborhood Council’s commitment will consist of meetings with EMD to discuss neighborhood resources, vulnerabilities, and and other neighborhood-specific components.

If your NC is interested in this project, please submit the following items no later than Friday, March 6, 2015. Submissions are limited to 10 pages.
