Election Season is underway and it is imperative that Neighborhood Councils have a place on every agenda for EmpowerLA staff plus Election officials.
In addition, the Election Chairs and Outreach Chairs should have a place on each agenda so that they can report on their progress and make sure that all Board Members stay informed and involved throughout the election journey.
Most importantly, take time at every meeting to reiterate the Neighborhood Council’s vision, mission, and unique story. Not just for the members of the audience, but also for the Board Members so that everyone is able to offer a clear and well articulated case for support when they talk to members of the community about running as a candidate, volunteering as a pollworker, and voting as a stakeholder.
