Thanks to a $200,000 grant from ASPCA, you can get *free* adoptions for all cats 4 months of age or older at all LA City animal shelters! All cats are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before going to their new homes, Visit any of LA Animal Services 6 shelters to find your new friend. See a map and find your closest location at LAAnimalServices.com/shelter-locator/. All six locations are open Tuesday – Saturday 8 am – 5 pm, and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm (closed Mondays and holidays.)

This program will be offered for as long as the funding lasts. The adoption fee for adult cats older than 4 months is ordinarily $25, so the ASPCA grant will help save the lives of 8,000 homeless cats. (LA Animal Services has lots of cute kittens, too,  who do not qualify for this program, but their adoption fees are only $50.)

If you aren’t ready to commit to adopting, please consider providing a temporary foster home for a kitten or adult cat (or an adorable puppy or dog) who needs a break from the shelter environment. You’ll help a homeless animal get the socialization it needs to blossom in a new adoptive home, and will also get the chance to see if you feel ready to care for a pet full time.
