Greetings, Neighborhood Council Treasurers, Board Members, and stakeholders. The fiscal systems deadlines have now passed. It is now time to start looking at your 2014-15 Budget Packages and the new NC Checking Accounts. After what seemed like an endless litany of obstacles and challenges, the Union Bank NC Checking Accounts are now being opened and by July 1st all NC’s will have an account with their name on it. Make sure the Department has all of your information and a current bank application so that your Treasurer and Second Signer have access to these accounts right away. As discussed in the Funding Training (Click here view training), the Department will be depositing $4,000 seed money into each account to get you going on covering your operating costs. As your board votes to expend additional funds from these accounts, your Treasurer may request additional funds be added to your accounts. No more demand warrants, no more auto-deducts, the keys to your funds are now in your hands. Please refer to our website for critical guidelines and information on using these funds appropriately and tracking your expenses.

Best,

Armando Ruiz
Neighborhood Council Funding Program Director
