I am currently on the GPNC General Board as the At Large Representative and I am also serving as the Secretary of the GPNC Elections Committee. Over the last six (6) years I have also diligently served the Glassell Park Community by being on the GPNC Executive Board as the Treasurer for two (2)terms, the Chairperson of the GPNC Budget & Finance Committee and a member of both the GPNC Grants & Funding Committee and the GPNC Bylaws Committee. I think that the City of Los Angeles Neighborhood Council system is vital to ensuring that the voices of the stakeholders are heard by the Mayor at City Hall, the City Council Members and the various City Departments and if re-elected, I will strive to make them hear the voices of Glassell Park loud and clear! Thank you for your consideration.

Michael Divic

I have been a resident of the Glassell Park area for most of my life. My family have been residents in the area for 44 years. I care about this area and the residents in it and would like to do my part by serving this community on the Council Board. I have a lot of experience with both community service and board service and feel that I will be able to be a strong voice in our community’s advisory body to the City of Los Angeles.

I have been involved with the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council since it’s certification in January 2002.  I strongly believe in the importance of community participation, and the importance of the neighborhood councils to inform, educate and empower the stakeholders that live, work, and own property in the community of Glassell park regardless of age, gender, national origin, religious affiliation, marital status, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
I believe an elected official should serve the stakeholders and prioritize the needs of the community for the greater good of the businesses, merchants, and residents alike.

Elizabeth Gallardo

Thank you for considering me as an Area Representative for sub-area 1. I’ve been a resident of Glassell Park for 3 years and am very passionate about creating positive change in our neighborhood. Growing up in Northeast LA, I understand our neighborhood’s great potential. I am a graduate student in Urban and Regional Planning and have been active in local community meetings regarding planning issues across Northeast LA, especially those related to making our streets more attractive and safe- improvements that can strengthen our sense of community and the local economy. I believe in sustainable neighborhoods that are safe, vibrant, diverse, and pedestrian friendly. I support local economic development and small businesses. As a planner and resident, I could make a great contribution representing our community to the city and would listen carefully to the voices of you, my neighbors.

I am running for the Area 5 representative because I want to make a diffe4rence in my community. Leslie Andrew Ridings

The only way to improve our community is to get involved and start making positive things happen. That’s my goal- improve Glassell for all of us. I’m a young business owner/entrepreneur looking to make a positive change in my community – and I’d love for you to give me an opportunity to do just that.

Paul Getto

After renting a home in Glassell Park for the past two years, I recently decided to make the neighborhood my permanent home. Just last week, I became a homeowner in our neighborhood by completing the purchase of a house on the southeastern edge of the Glassell Park and Recreation Center in region five.
I am a recent graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Management and I work full time in the Strategic Planning group at Universal Pictures. By joining the Council Board, I hope to put my analytical and business skill set to work in service of our community and to protect and enhance our collective home. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to work for you as a member of the Council and I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and learning from you as we collectively improve Glassell Park.

I am a landscape architect / urban planner and an eleven year resident of Glassell Park.  My partner and I are the second owners of a house built in 1926.  Our neighbors are long time residents who live in houses handed down by parents and grandparents and who take care of and watch out for everyone in our neighborhood.  There is a real sense of community on our quiet street on a hill that looks over our part of Glassell Park.  We took great pains to restore our home in keeping with the time period in which it was built while adding solar panels and drought tolerant landscaping in response to current day issues.  I want to ensure that our neighborhood maintain the sense of community while tackling everyday issues and look forward to serving on the Neighborhood Council as a representative of Region Six.

Martin Gregori

Dear Residents,

A safer, cleaner, happier and more prosperous neighborhood for all is possible with the collaboration of our visionary and hard working residents. Improvements and positive changes in our community, courtesy of our our neighborhood council, inspire me to contribute and be of service to our beautiful neighborhood of Glassell Park.

Love

I have lived in Glassell Park for over 40 years and have raised my children here. I worked in the private industry for 25 years and 15 years in the City of Los Angeles as senior deputy for Council 14, Community Advocate for Council 13 and Office Manager for Council 1. I retired from the City in 2010 and have remained active in the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council as Business Representative and chair of the Land Use and Economic Development Committee. I would like to continue serving in that capacity and look forward to improving the quality of life in Glassell Park.

Victoria Monteleone

After one year of being a resident I am managing the Andrita Apartments, I am secretary of the Glassell Park Community Garden, and I get involved in our community as much as possible. Every day I wake up to a thriving community that still has yet to reach it’s visionary capacity. Glassell Park, to me, resembles a blank canvas and it’s people the paint brushes. The members of the GPNC resemble the art teacher providing the paint and observing each stroke. Unlike some of our neighboring cities, Glassell Park has not plateaued in its structuring over the years which leaves so many opportunities open to the town and it’s people. I want to mobilize our community towards becoming aware of their voice in government, compassionate about our community, and nurturing to our ideas, resources, and people so as to continue painting the beautiful picture we have already started painting here.

Channa Grace

I am president of Works a non-profit and I have served on the GPNC as a business rep since early 2012. I would very much like to continue serving Glassell Park as a neighborhood council board member. I will do my best to listen to all presentations and discussion of agenda items in order to arrive at what I believe is a fair reasonable and responsible position prior to voting should you; the voters elect me to serve on the GPNC. Thank you for your consideration.

Having served my country as a united states marine, my city as a firefighter, and presently as an educator, I am now hoping to serve my neighborhood as the educational representative. Living and working in Glassell Park I have developed a great sense of pride for this community. I aim to bring residents, community organizations, schools, business owners, and other stakeholders in the Glassell Park community together to make Glassell park a shining star of what it means to be a true community.
