Charles A. Samson – Serving on the Valley Glen Neighborhood Council as Vice-President, and as Chairman of the Planning and Land Use Committee has been an extremely rewarding and very gratifying experience. I moved to Valley Glen in 2004 and wanted to become more involved in my community. I am an architect in private practice, specializing in residential additions and new homes, so improving the built environment is very important to me. I have collaborated with the Master of Planning Department at USC and this spring semester, students in the MP course will prepare a Community Master Plan for Greater Valley Glen, which will help guide our goals and objectives. Valley Glen is a wonderful neighborhood and I hope to continue to be able to serve my community.
Rich Pisani – I have served on the Greater Valley Glen Neighborhood Council for the past 8 Months and look forward to continuing the great work we have started. I have lived in Valley Glen since 1998 and as a REALTOR® have specialized in buying and selling real estate in the area. I have been instrumental in positive changes in my immediate neighborhood and look forward to doing so for the Greater Valley Glen.

Joanne D’Antonio – I am dedicated to working to make Valley Glen a beautiful community to live and work. Valley Glen is a neighborhood on the way up, and I want to make sure that continues to happen. I have only lived here just over a year, but I bring a background of work and dedication to local issues. I worked as Traffic Committee and Safety Chair in my previous neighborhood — until we moved away. I also served as Parent Organization President and School Governance Council Representative at North Hollywood High School for three years — until my son graduated. I worked on difficult challenges and was able to achieve many goals, including working to get the school off the year-round calendar a year early. I offer my energy and experience to make Valley Glen an even better place.

Kathleen Schwartz– My husband and I purchased our home in 1978 as newlyweds, and have lived in our amazing multi-cultural / multi-generational neighborhood for over 35 years. I am currently your elected District 3 Representative, a member of the Community and Neighborhood Outreach Committee and active in my Neighborhood Watch Program.If elected as the Homeowner Representative for District 3, I will continue to1. Assist stakeholders in becoming involved, having their voices heard and meeting various needs for the benefit of all in the neighborhood2. David Berman – I am a business professional, father of two young children who has lived in the GVG area for most of my life, I have concerns of the future of the GVG area and wish to make a positive contribution to our GVG community.
Malky Kertis – I have been a homeowner in valley glen for the past 14 years, and I am proud to call Valley Glen my home. I am committed and dedicated to constant improving of our neighborhood and empowering the community. I have served on the Greater Valley Glen Council before and was involved in the materialization of the playground structure in Erwin park, an addition that kids, and their parents, have been enjoying greatly. Those are the tangible things that make a difference in the quality of our everyday lives and those are the things I will work for, improving our surroundings and standards of services, safe neighborhoods and outreach, while advocating for the voices of the people of Valley Glen and representing the diverse members of our community. It will be my honor to serve on the Greater Valley Glen Council.

Sloan Myrick – Elected as GVGC Homeowner District 5 representative in 2012, I have worked to represent Valley Glen residents in a professional, competent manner. As a member of the Parks Committee, we have worked with the city to improve and beautify our community park. Our park is in better shape than it has been in years. As a member of the Government Relations committee, we have provided financial assistance to all Valley Glen public schools.I would be honored if you would please reelect me to the GVGC in 2014.

Nicholas Lambert – I’m Nicholas Lambert, and my wife Raquel and I are proud and fortunate to live in District 6 of the Greater Valley Glen area. Active community involvement and participation are essential elements of citizenship, and together we can work to improve the quality of where we live and work. I hope to use my past leadership experience as an Army officer and Iraq veteran, as well as my position as a realtor to develop community outreach programs, continue coordination with emergency services, and improve our neighborhood watch and public safety awareness. Additionally, I hope to encourage continued support for our outstanding schools and terrific local businesses, ensuring that the Valley Glen area remains vibrant with families and small business owners. Marcus Como R4_GVGNCMarcus J Como – In my career as a computer consultant for the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy I am continually reminded how important communication is. Like many of you, I felt that my interests weren’t being adequately represented by my elected officials. Rather than simply complain about it, I decided to get active and do what I can to make sure that my voice is being heard. I firmly believe that government exists to serve the people, and not the other way around. Join your voice with mine, and let’s make sure that “We the People” are being heard in our little corner of Valley Glen.
Shay M. Brook – It would be my honor and privilege to represent the GVGC in 2014 for another term. When I was elected in 2012 as the Greater Valley Glen Valley District 2 Resident Occupant, I have been and will continue to be an aggressive champion and an enthusiastic supporter of our neighborhood, with a strong voice to maintain and better our quality of life. I am also a committee member on both the Parks & Recreation Committee, as well as the Public Safety Committee. Kari Roberts – My husband and I bought our first home in Valley Glen 3 years ago. For the past 8 years, I worked as an Event Producer, producing primarily fundraising events for nonprofit organizations. Most recently I was the Special Events Manager for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. After the birth of our first son, I decided to leave my position to focus on raising a family. I absolutely love the Valley Glen community and look forward to helping make the neighborhood a better and safer place to raise our children. I hope to do that while serving on the Greater Valley Glen Council.

Michael Stathopoulos – I’ve been a homeowner in Valley Glen since 2011. I am proud to be a board member and chair of the Neighborhood Outreach committee. We have created a brand-new website and Facebook presence, but still have a lot to do. We are working on extending our digital presence with Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo, etc., but also on creating a physical brand for Valley Glen with light pole banners, bus benches, and more. I’m excited about the direction in which we are moving and hope that more candidates will join us!!!
Jessica Russell – I am a homeowner, mother, business women, and resident of Valley Glen. I am asking for your vote and re-elect me as a board member of Greater Valley Glen Council. It would be my 2nd term and I would further like to create a safe place for our children and citizens of GVG. I am active in the local business community in the area of real estate and investment. I am a mother of 2 young boys and have strong education and community concerns for our children and residents. I also would like to further develop our Business presence in VG. I have strong passion in accomplishment and seeing our board represents you with strength, dignity, and challenge for issues and developments with city officials not benefiting our people’s interest. I am also interested in establishing the council presence and projects we (I) have pending and in future become effective.

Bill Fishman I am currently a resident of Valley Glen and a current member of the Greater Valley Glen Council and its Outreach Committee. I have used skills learned as a people person, husband and father to present yet another view point at our meetings and events. With the passing of each year, we continue to grow the Valley Glen story in neighborhoods which we and our families spend our lives. Your hopes and desires for better and safer living conditions become part of the goals and objectives of our Greater Valley Glen Council. You are the eyes and ears of our community, and we encourage your comments and suggestions to solve the litany of issues a growing community faces on a day to day basis. Linda Wehrli – It is a pleasure and privilege to apply for candidacy for the Commercial Property Owner Representative seat. I have owned my Valley Glen commercial property since 1999. As an active supporter of the arts and education, I am glad to hear and support ideas and projects that will make our community thrive and flourish.
Eli Friedman – I presently serve as an appointed member of the Greater Valley Glen Neighborhood Council and have lived my entire life within its present boundaries. I have attended meetings and given the matters brought to the Board my full consideration. I have a deep-seated concern for our neighborhood and will continue to give the neighborhood council my full attention. I believe that I can consider all sides fairly and treat everyone with respect. I hope to continue with my service to our community.
