CANDIDATES FILED:
Anastasia Mann – Having served on the HHWNC BOARD for over 12 years, including 3 terms as president, I am proud to see our city officials now embracing our Mission in support of our community. We’ve come a long way! I facilitate our meetings on behalf of our 19 committees encompassing 9 areas within our boundaries plus 9 essential “issue committees” and our very important “PLUM Committee”. Should you choose to re-elect me, I will do my best for you in moving forward during these challenging times.
Vice President
Term: 2 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
CANDIDATES FILED:
Cyd Zeigler – I’ve served as a community organizer most of my life, honing skills I believe will translate into an effective, collaborative, supportive Vice-President for the HHWNC.Most recently my work has taken aim at homophobia in sports. For years sports organizations worked separately, often competing with one another. I united them in a coalition to build communication. The result has been powerful, as they now work collaboratively. Because of this, we’re witnessing the toppling of homophobia in sports once thought impossible.Through these efforts, and in my years in the corporate world and journalism, I’ve focused on building trust and teamwork. Setting priorities, respecting opinions and listening: These are hallmarks of my collaborative style. You wonâ??t find someone more adept at supporting a president and board while identifying when to supply leadership. I’ll help area and issue chairs see their visions strengthen our community.I look forward to serving you.
Secretary
Term: 2 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
CANDIDATES FILED:
Kathy Banuelos – My name is Kathy Banuelos and I am running for re-election for Secretary on the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council. I currently serve as Counsel in Legal & Government Affairs for NBCUniversal, which has historically been a supporter of local civic and charitable causes, such as the Fire Station 76 on Cahuenga West and the Hollywood Beautification Team. Through my work in Government Affairs, I frequently work with community stakeholders and understand the importance of civic participation and community outreach. I have enjoyed serving as the Board Secretary for the last year and hope to continue my service. I look forward to collaborating with the Board in addressing the needs and concerns of the Hollywood Hills West community and ensuring that it continues to be a vibrant place to live and work.
Treasurer
Term: 2 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
CANDIDATES FILED:
Michael P Meyer – I’m a 20-year resident of Outpost Estates. I have served on the Outpost HOA Board most of those years, currently as President. I’ve been on the HHWNC Board for six years, two as Area 5 Chair and four as Treasurer. I would like to continue as Treasurer to keep our funds in order and encourage the Board to fund community improvement projects. I’ve kept our accounting up to date and submitted all required paperwork to DONE during my current term. I expect there to be new challenges for the Treasurer, as the City is constantly changing the rules by which we operate, but the proposal to provide neighborhood councils with checking accounts should expedite reimbursement of Board members for out-of-pocket expenses. In addition to serving as Treasurer, I have managed several ad hoc committees for the Board and have brought forward several community improvement projects for funding.
Parliamentarian
Term: 2 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
CANDIDATES FILED:
Malena Patel – I am a resident of Sunset Square, and am eager to support our unique community by serving as Parliamentarian. I believe in a strong and harmonious partnership between residents and local businesses. I will strive to encourage growth while retaining the charm and character that make our neighborhood so special.
Issue 1: Traffic, Public
Transportation and Parking Committee Chair
Term: 2 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who will lead the HHWNC committee to address traffic, public transportation and parking and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
Jim Geoghan – We have to keep our eyes open and stay on guard. Our buses and newly built subway system has done very little to lessen the amount of traffic although there are those in our city government who do not share this opinion and plan to add more of what is causing our traffic problems. I attend every Street Closure Committee meeting and fight to keep Hollywood Streets as open as possible. It is essential to keep Hollywood Boulevard open as much as possible. It’s closure causes mayhem. Only BIG film premieres andMAJOR award events should warrant the closure of Hollywood Boulevard. Also Highland going North should be ALL lanes from 4 to 8 PM – not 7 PM. This is difficult to change – the plan goes into other council areas but I’m working on it.

Issue 2: Youth Development,
Education and Recreational
Resources Committee Chair
Term: 2 years

1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who will lead the HHWNC committee to address youth development, education and recreational resources and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
CANDIDATES FILED:
Annie Gagen – Hello, I am new to this Board, having replaced someone right before the holidays.
My husband and I have lived in Hollywood for 30 years and raised our daughter here.
I would love to continue to be a part of our NC and have the opportunity to serve the needs of the Children and Youth of Hollywood..
.. to work towards creating the safest, most culturally rich environment for them, a place where whatever peeks their interest can be found right here, in their own backyard..
My bio, statement, and Youth Friendly activities that I post for our stakeholders can be found on our Youth Committee page.
I hope you will allow me to continue serving on this wonderful Board, and to continue serving the needs of the Children and Youth of Hollywood, as they are it’s future.
Thank you,
Annie Gagen
Issue 3: Business Issues

Stakeholders who live, work, own property or those who declare a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who are 18 years or older.
CANDIDATES FILED:
Oren Katz –As a home owner in our neighborhood since 2000 I have seen firsthand the changes that family and pedestrian friendly businesses have brought our area. As a lecturer in CSULA Geosciences and Environment department (former Geography and Urban Analysis department), I believe that I can mitigate some of our concern as residents, and help attract businesses into our area that work with our unique neighborhood character. We will work together to find ways that businesses, developments and the needs of the neighborhood all benefit.
Joshua Kopel – I love Hollywood. I have watched this neighborhood grow and change and now that I am a business owner, I would like to give back to the city that has given me so much. My goal as part of the Business Development Committee is to continue my predecessor’s work toward a more resident friendly Hollywood. I look forward to working with local business owners and operators as well as those living in the area to make Hollywood into a place where tourists are as likely to see a local family of four having lunch on the boulevard as they are to see a famous celebrity. We’ll work together to create events designed to bring residents and business owners together. In the Hollywood I envision, other neighborhoods use the format we will create here to build a greater sense of community in their own neighborhoods.
Issue 4: Infrastructure Committee Chair
Term: 2 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who lives, works, owns property or declares a stake within the HHWNC boundaries as a community interest stakeholder and who will lead the HHWNC committee to address

Mary Prange
Stacey Kenyon R5_HHNCStacey Kenyon – The Hollywood Hills West community is comprised of historic and scenic neighborhoods intemixed with exciting commercial, retail, and entertainment developments. As such, we’re an in-demand area that is constantly evolving. To maintain the quality of life we enjoy, our infrastructure must be able to support the changes in our community. All people, regardless of their views on the Hollywood Community Plan, expanding Metro system, or land conservation efforts, can agree that our existing infrastructure is in need of repairs and maintenance. We must guide the city in addressing population growth and increasing service load demands as our community evolves. The Infrastructure Chair also plays a key role in the HHWNC’s PLUM Committee, weighing in on development and variances that affect our neighborhood’s future. I want to serve HHWNC Stakeholders by looking out for our changing infrastructure needs and advising our City Council on how to best shape our community.
Issue 5: Housing, Social and Human Services, Religious and

JoAnn W Koplin – I have lived in the area for 12 years and believe our wonderful neighborhood must be preserved. I have a masters degree in Architecture, have served on one district school board, two non-profit boards and the Division of the State Architects Advisory Board. My work requires detailed knowledge of the California Building Codes and the LA City Planning Codes. With all the development that appears to be interested in our area, it’s important to support projects that will improve and benefit our neighborhood as well as fight those that have no benefit and are detrimental to preserving the quality of life we moved here to enjoy. Please consider a vote for me to Continue my Commitment to our neighborhood.
