Saturday, June 21st music could be heard all over LA from Santa Monica to Downtown, West Hollywood, Silver Lake, Griffith Park, Culver City, an Fernando Valley and many points in between.  Our counterparts in New York, Chicago, Austin, Boston, Denver, Paris, and 794 cities around the world celebrated at the same time. The worldwide celebration brought thousands of people together to share in making music.

The free concerts brought seasoned musicians together with students who were thrilled to have the opportunity of playing with and learning from professionals.

On June 19th Congressman Adam Schiff introduced a House Resolution in Washington DC in support of June 21st National Make Music Day.   This is very exciting because it is the first step toward making National Make Music Day a true national holiday honoring music and musicians and in particular music education.

The abundance of talent and the happiness spread over neighborhoods and communities across the city was infectious.  Music filled the air from classical, jazz, hip hop, R&B, Hawaiian, pop, folk, plus many other genera of music.  In addition the spoken word, Shakespeare and other forms of comedy and drama, and dance performances on indoor and outdoor stages.
