Canoga Park NC member and homeless advocate Corinne Ho talked to bloggers MomLA about her experience as a parent serving on a Neighborhood Council, which she calls “the perfect venue to address various issues affecting the quality of life in my neighborhood.”

She also notes that, for her 12-year-old daughter, having a mother serving on an Neighborhood Council has had a profound impact, as it helped her daughter understand that “when something happens, whether it’s at school or in the community, it’s our duty to not just stand around and watch things happen, but rather, be part of the process.”
