Neighborhood Council-Led Beautification Efforts Get a Boost in Council District 2

Neighborhood Councils are constantly taking on great new projects to make their neighborhoods better. In Council District 2, a new matching grant program will enable NCs to carry out projects that improve the neighborhood environment and build stronger connections in the community.

With the Neighborhood Council Community Beautification Program, every award matches Neighborhood Council appropriated funds for project materials and services one-to-one. Neighborhood Councils within CD #2 (Greater Valley Glen, Mid-Town North Hollywood, North Hollywood Northeast; North Hollywood West, Studio City; Sun Valley; Valley Village; and Van Nuys) are encouraged to partner with Neighborhood Watch groups, schools and community-based organizations in their area.

Projects must be visible, provide a public benefit and be located in places such as street medians, parkways, walls visible to the public and municipal property.

The launch of the Neighborhood Council Community Beautification Program will take place at a clean-up in North Hollywood this Monday, January 20 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. The cleanup begins at 9:00am.

If you’d like to join the clean-up, the group will meet at Fire Station 89, 7063 Laurel Canyon Blvd.
