Green space is growing in Hollywood with the recent addition of two new pocket parks. In addition to the Gordon Street Park, the new Carlton Way Park scheduled to open this summer. The quarter-acre park is situated near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and the 101 Freeway, on Carlton Way between Gordon Street and Bronson Avenue.

The park is a project of the Trust for Public Land, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating public parks and conserving land for people, in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and funded by a State of California grant. It will provide a much-needed oasis of rest and recreation in the midst of the bustling Hollywood Boulevard corridor.

In August 2014, in anticipation of the new park, community members held a Community Mosaic Day to create decorative mosaic tiles to be installed in the park. Designed through a community-based design process, the new park will include a playground, fitness equipment, and small landscaped plazas with benches. The full design can be viewed here.

To alleviate security concerns, the park will include perimeter fencing, LED lighting, and other safety measures.
