From the Field

Hello NC leaders,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to let you know that our Field Staff and I are getting ready to wrap up our New Board Development Series as we conduct our last session this coming Saturday, 12/8/12, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in West L.A. (West L.A. Municipal Building, 1645 Corinth Avenue (Civic Center plaza). Please note that the entrance is on the west side of the building, opposite the Court House (not the main entrance). This training, as with all the previous ones, is a collaboration of Department staff and peer leaders and mentors from the Councils for Councils Program (C4C) as well as members of the Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Council Resource Board. We want to give thanks to all those volunteer- peer trainers that gave up most of their Saturday mornings to come out and help their fellow Neighborhood Council Board members. We would also like to remind you about the Ethics and Open Government training coming up on 12/12/12 at the LAPD Administration Building – Hearing Room (100 West First Street, LA 90012) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Spaces are quickly filling up so please be sure to let us know if you are planning on attending. The field staff continue to provide support to individual Neighborhood Councils as well as general support via the Department’s Help Line. We are happy to answer questions and inquiries that you may have. We are also excited to enter a new phase in our C4C program with more targeted assistance by our peer mentors and trainers as they help us problem solve in various areas of the City. Look for more detailed information regarding the C4C, our members and future plans on our next Newsletter. As always, If you need assistance we are a phone call and/or e-mail away!

Best,

Leyla A. Campos
