Here are the results of the Northridge South Neighborhood Council’s Town Hall voting.

Balloting for contested seats on Neighborhood Councils in the Northwest Valley began Thursday and continues Saturday. At Northridge Middle School, 107 stakeholders signed-in to vote, New England Town Hall style, in a real demonstration of grass-roots democracy. Of the 95 Neighborhood Councils in Los Angeles, about 88 are voting for new board members this year.

Now is the time to take on the city’s toughest challenges and winning. That’s what I’ll do as a member of this great city of Northridge.

I grew up in Egypt, moved to California when I was a little boy. But it’s where I also learned that you have to be prepared to take on tough fights and that making a real difference in people’s lives is what matters most. I am very proud of my father’s legacy, proud of my family name, and I honor my parents and all they taught me.

I started my business in 1994. Now my business has grown because I listened to my employees and clients. I promise the people of Northridge to be a full time Council Man, to keep our Citizens well informed by listening to their concerns. If I am elected my highest priority will be keeping Northridge clean and safe.

Northridge is at an economic crossroads. We see it everyday with businesses closing, homes in foreclosure, and companies relocating. Tough times are widespread and competition for dwindling resources is intense. We must work together to make sure that Northridge not only survives but prospers. We must ensure that Northridge is a clean, safe, friendly place for families to grow up in, older people to enjoy and businesses to thrive in.

I could tell you that I was named one of the top 100 producers in the U.S., that I’m the proud father of three boys, and that I graduated with distinction with a Master Degree in Education. All true, but none of that is important. What is important is I have the energy and focus to help make Northridge a better place and would be honored to be your council member

I’m submitting my name for consideration for a Residential Stakeholder Board position because I think we should all take a turn at (1) learning about city government and what it can/can’t do, (2) giving back to our community with service to our neighbors, (3) investing in the quality of life in our community and (4) encouraging our youth to get involved.
