PLEASE THE HERMON NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL FOR THE

1ST ANNUAL PICNIC IN THE PARK
SATURDAY, JUNE 9 from 11AM-3PM

The Hermon Neighborhood Council invites you to enjoy the first big Hermon community “Summer Kick-Off Picnic in the Park.” It will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our Hermon Park — 5568 Via Marisol.

There will be a free lunch from three different food trucks – hamburger, grilled cheese, or Mexican food. Come grab a bit to eat and meet your neighbors. All the fun will include music from a live DJ, face painting, a balloon artist, and bouncy houses and other big inflatable kids’ games. And so you can keep enjoying your summer, the Hermon Neighborhood Council is giving out free tote bags filled with a picnic blanket and Frisbee (while supplies last).

At 12:30 p.m. our Councilmember Jose Huizar will be with us and will introduce our Hermon Neighborhood Council boardmembers. You’ll get to see just some of the significant ways the board has spent your neighborhood council’s allocated money this first year.  Bushnell Way Elementary School will make a special presentation to our community.  All through the picnic you can enjoy making your way along a dozen booths of different community groups.

The following organizations made this event possible.  The Hermon Neighborhood Council, the office of Councilmember Huizar, Hermon Church, Bushnell Way Elementary School, Los Angeles International Charter High School, Friends of Hermon Dog Park, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Art in the Park (who will also have an Open House of the Lalo Guerrero building in the park), the Audubon Center, the Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) , the Cat Posse — devoted to rescuing and rehabilitating unwanted and abused cats in Southern California –and the “Hermon Firecrackers” who among other things will be presenting Hermon’s fascinating history and our community’s resources.

See you there!
