Next week, the 2015 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count will take place for the fifth time since starting in 2005. In gathering census data of how many homeless people we have in Los Angeles, we can better engage homelessness in our area and take care of our fellow Angelenos who need a helping hand.

The South Robertson Neighborhood Council is seeking 100 volunteers to canvass the South Robertson area during the Homeless Count.

Come support your local communities and neighborhoods by providing your invaluable service! The more accurate the count, the more funding will flow into the community to get the homeless off the street and into programs and housing. SoRo is seeking 100 volunteers to help get this done quickly on behalf of the entire community.

Date: Wednesday, January 28, 2015
Time: 7pm
Location: Hamilton High School
2955 S. Robertson Blvd, 90034

If you would like to become a volunteer, you can fill out a Volunteer Registration Form online at lahsa.nationbuilder.com/register. If you have any additional questions, please refer to the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority website at www.lahsa.org or send an email to SORO Board Member Beth Hirsch at bethhirsch@soronc.org.

Officers from LAPD will be assigned to the location and extra patrols will be in the area providing security. Food and drink will be provided by the South Robertson Neighborhoods Council. Please help spread the word to your friends, neighbors and social media so that together we can help improve the quality of life in our community.

Have ideas for other ways we can make a difference in the lives of homeless men, women, and children in Los Angeles? Our first engagement post on a new social media platform, MySidewalk, asks just that question. Join the discussion and share your thoughts for improving homeless services in our city and empowering our homeless neighbors to access the services they need.
