The survey results are in for the nine motions proposed by the Neighborhood Council Plan Review Committees! Over a period of two months, 389 responses were collected from the public, with most originating from Board Members and stakeholders who identified with one of 65 Neighborhood Councils. The survey affirms the work of the NC Plan Review Committees since all nine of their policy proposals were supported by the survey participants – from 61.6% for the proposed motion on Neighborhood Council subdivision to 90.9% for the proposed motion on maintaining information networks. The nine proposed motions and survey results now go before the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners for consideration at their next regularly scheduled meeting on the evening of Tuesday, October 1st. If the Commission adopts the motions as-is or with modifications, the motions will be then forwarded to the City Council, or where appropriate to the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment for implementation.
The nine motions from the Commission’s Review Committees address the topics of:
- Grievances and Complaints
- Board Selections
- Brown Act and Posting Policies
- Appointment Processes
- Maintaining Information Networks
- Commission Duties
- The Exhaustive Efforts Process.
Thank you to those who took the time to take the survey. To see the Summary, open this pdf here.
