Next week — April 27-29 — at the L.A. Convention Center, a non-profit called Your Best Pathway to Health which is connected to the 7th Day Adventist Church will be hosting an event. There will be free medical care offered throughout those days, with no insurance or ID required, to anyone who goes there, though people will have to wait on lines, probably long ones, to get in. The flyer which I can send you (English and Spanish versions) details many of the services they will be offering. They have said they expect to serve 10,000-12,000 patients, and they will have 4300 volunteers helping out, including many highly trained doctors, etc. By the way, though a church is involved in this, they have said they will not be prpselytizing at this event. Several council offices have expressed support, obviously appreciative of the idea that people who may desperately need health care that they may not otherwise be positioned to receive will be able to receive such care at this event. They are eager to serve as many patients as possible. While so many things are being offered for free on a first come, first served basis, and without advance contact being required, many major surgical procedures are also being offered for free –including gall bladders (cholecystectomies), hysterectomies, hernia repairs, urologic procedures, orthopedic procedures and much, much more. However, these major surgical procedures will require prescreening – those interested in major surgical procedures should download the “surgery referral form” and get it filled out and submitted no later than Monday, April 25. The form can be found at the website, YourBestPathwayToHealth.org, or by calling 1-888-44-Pathway (1-888-447-2849).

Please see the attached flyers in English and in Spanish. We hope to see you there.
