Harbor Gateway North Chair Pamela Thornton was honored with an Unsung Hero Award at a ceremony hosted by the California Legislative Black Caucus on the California State Assembly floor. The event, which was held in celebration of Martin Luther King Day, recognizes those who best exemplify and carry on the vision and legacy of Dr. King. The name, bio, and photo of Unsung Hero Award winners are displayed at the California Capitol Rotunda throughout the month of January.

Assemblymember Mike Gipson of District 64 chose Pamela for the Unsung Hero Award to highlight her hard work addressing the economic, health, and environmental disparities experienced by people of color.

Pamela comments, “Assemblymember Gipson and his staff were very gracious. My Sacramento experience was awesome. I couldn’t believe my photo was hanging in the Capitol Rotunda for the entire month of January.”

Congratulations to Pamela for receiving this well-deserved recognition!
