Martin Terrones – For the past 23 years, I have worked hard to ensure students in low income communities of color seek higher education. In that time, I have fought against draconian cuts to education, and have advocated for greater access to available resources and opportunities for growth. Additionally, I have worked closely with immigrant rights groups, like the Southern California Immigration Coalition, in organizing the community through know-your-rights conferences and advocating for their rights with various local, county, state and federal agencies.As a resident of South Central Los Angeles, I have worked closely with students and residents of the Central Alameda area to improve their quality of lives by demanding improved services, greater accountability from the City, and better representation in these under served communities.I received my BA and MFA from UCLA.

Adriana Cabrera -It would be an honor for me to be re-elected to continue serving my community as the CANC Education Representative. As a first generation college student I know how important it is to empower students to get a higher education and to be involved in our community decision-making process. Elizabeth Martinez – Elizabeth Martinez born in South Central Los Angeles is very active in her community working in various capacities. Elizabeth is very passionate for helping and serving her community she believes in empowering every single person in our community. Elizabeth currently joined CD Tech’s Public Allies Los Angeles apprenticeship program to gain more knowledge of the non – profit sector so she can later develop her own non – profit to serve the community. She is very passionate about human rights, youth education and domestic violence. Elizabeth considers these some of the most pressing public policy issues. Elizabeth has being a part of the first cohort of Los Angeles Organizing Academy another program part of CD Tech.
Natali Cabrera – I want to join Central Alameda Neighborhood Council to make a difference in my community while developing leadership skills. I want to get involve in the decisions that affect youth like myself. As a LAURA youth, I have learned about the things I can do to better my community. I want to create programs for youth because I know how hard it is for us when we lack basic needs. It would mean a lot to get your support to be the voice of the youth in the area where I live.Quiero unirme a el Concilio Vecinal de Central Alameda para hacer una diferencia en mi comunidad. Quiero involucrarme en decisiones que afectan a los jÃ³venes como yo porque sÃ© lo difÃcil que es para nosotros cuando cresemos sin las necesidades bÃ¡sicas. SignificarÃa mucho conseguir su apoyo para ser la voz de la juventud en la zona donde vivo.

Leatha Taylor – I am currently running for the Senior Citizen Representative Seat for the Central Alameda Neighborhood Council. Being active in this community since 1977, and the Director of Family Unity. I have provided various services to and for our Youth, Seniors & other individuals in the Community. If I am re-elected I will work hard to provide our seniors with any help that I can. I will continue to have various trips with the seniors and indoor-outdoor programs. I will not let you down.
