I believe that community is very important and that we should all come together to voice our concerns to ensure that the best possible solutions are reached for this neighborhood. There can be no unity without the participation of all members; whether it be youth, adults, or the elderly. Major issues that are of concern to me are green spaces, programs for youth and elderly populations, the South Central Farm, and much more. Please vote! Your opinion matters.

Adriana Cabrera As a young first generation college student born and raised by immigrant parents in South Los Angeles, I know the struggles our community has endured. Therefore, I am running for Central Alameda Neighborhood Council Education Representative to develop projects that will contribute towards the improvement of our community. Education is not only about what your learn in school; its also about being aware of the rich history that has shaped South LA today. As a result of my passion and commitment I founded Empowering Youth in South Central to break the barriers that prevent us from pursuing a higher education, by empowering our youth and adults to come back to the community and use the knowledge gained to make a change. It’s important to get younger generations involved in the decision-making process for their community. With your support I will continue my efforts to improve Education in South LA.

My previous experience,knowledge and work that I have done in this community makes me a good candidate.I have been an active member of this community since 1977. My plans/future plans for the seniors are to develope more programs, have more outtings and expose them to various advancements that are available to them. Most of all,help give them a sense of feelings of belonging and to let them know that WE CARE.
