Online family registration for the 11 th Annual Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair (the largest in Los
Angeles) opens on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Please encourage your stakeholders to register and attend by
visiting www.ValleyDisasterFair.com. Registration will also be available at the Fair.

Registrants receive a personalized Welcome to the Fair email that will include information about the
registrant's Council District and Neighborhood Council, specific to the address provided during the
registration process. We invite all CDs and NCs to write a short message (150-200 words) to your
stakeholders that will be included in the Welcome email. This is a valuable free opportunity to
communicate with your stakeholders, to let them know what you are doing for the community, and to
encourage them to get involved. All we need is your message, and we'll take care of the rest. Please
email your message to Bill Hopkins (Bill.Hopkins@SoCalPrep.us) right away. For further information,
click here (https://www.valleydisasterfair.com/flyers/NCoutreach2018.pdf). As the Welcome email is
sent once upon registration, the sooner we get your message, the greater number of your stakeholders
it will reach (accepted until 9/22).

In addition to this Welcome email outreach opportunity, you may also host an Outreach booth at the
Fair. Space is limited, and it’s First Come, First Served for booth reservations. Don’t delay!

For more details, contact Bill Hopkins, Valley Disaster Preparedness Team Chair at
Bill.Hopkins@SoCalPrep.us. Last year’s attendance was 7,000. We expect similar or higher numbers this
year. Don't miss this great free opportunity to communicate with your stakeholders.

Thank you for helping all of Los Angeles get prepared for disasters. Remember, political boundaries are
unknown to natural disasters.
