You are cordially invited to join us for our first annual citywide EARTH DAY LA celebration at Hansen Dam Recreation Park on Saturday, April 23rd from 9am to 2pm. Please bring your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. There is no charge for admission or parking.
We’ll have a DJ and local performers on stage as well as a community bike ride/walk. We’ll bring our collection trucks for the kids, and our city partners are bringing other vehicles, including a police cruiser and fire truck! We’ll also have a variety of booths, games, mascots, educational materials, and free mulch & plants as well as other giveaways. You’ll have a chance to take photos with our Trash Monster, Mr. Recycle, The Drop, and other mascots.
At our Scavenger Hunt, kids under 15 will be encouraged to “Take the Eco Challenge” and leave with at least 3 Earth-friendly tips that they can implement immediately at home. Kids who complete the hunt will make an environmental pledge, have a quick photo session, get a free smoothie coupon, and be entered to win a family membership to the Discovery Cube.
The first 1000 attendees to check in at our Information Booth will receive a free pass to Discovery Cube Los Angeles! All are welcome and event admission is FREE!
Our staff will be grilling from 10:30am to 1pm, and serving ice cream & popsicles. We also have a Kids Corner at the library with activities and pony rides.
