I hope our newsletter finds you well. It was a busy day on Sunday with Region 11 elections, but I was happy to see the elections running really smoothly. Palms Neighborhood Council successfully piloted instant runoff voting online, and Venice Neighborhood Council had over 2700 voters turn out! Many thanks to the Neighborhood Councils, election volunteers, City Clerk and our staff for their amazing work! We are down to our last two election weekends with Regions 9 and 12 going tomorrow along with Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council whose elections were delayed because of the gas leak in their community.
I was so sad to hear the North Hollywood Northeast Neighborhood Council board member, Florence Dorick, passed away recently. Florence was a delightful person, full of good cheer, who really cared about her community. She worked tirelessly with the NHNENC, and I know that she enjoyed her volunteer work as a board member. Florence always had a kiss and hug for me whenever we would bump into one another at a Neighborhood Council event. We will really miss her sweet spirit and smile.
