Harbor Gateway South is in the corridor – sometimes called the “Shoestring Strip” – that connects the rest of the City of Los Angeles to the Harbor. The Harbor Gateway South Neighborhood Council was founded in April 2003 to give the local community a voice at LA City Hall, and serves about 22,000 residents, in addition to all those who live, work, or play in the Harbor Gateway South area.
