Sharing your election information will be top priority during the Neighborhood Council election period. To keep your stakeholders up to date with key election voting, candidate registration, workshops, board meetings, candidate forums, and other important dates and deliverables, every Election Committee will be best served by creating a master calendar.
Step 1:
Start with a calendar covering January 2016 to two months past your election date. Here is a 2016 Google Docs calendar with tabs for each month that can be used as a template.
Step 2:
Input your Neighborhood Council’s key election dates using this chart for your Region’s election deadlines and dates:
Add in Candidate Rally event
Add in Candidate Training Workshop event
Add in Candidate Forum(s) event(s)
Add in your NC events and meetings so you can do “outreach” planning to those attendees
Step 3:
Once completed, share it with your Webmaster to publish the master calendar on your Council’s website. You can also save it as a PDF and share it with your stakeholders, candidates, and network for them to keep track of YOUR elections deadlines and events.
If you save the master calendar as .JPG or .PNG, you can also promote it as a post via social media.
