Viktor_SkorikovViktor Skorikov – Let’s make Los Feliz better!
Linda_DemmersLinda Demmers – A Los Feliz resident for 18 years, I have been on the Neighborhood Council for the past three. During my tenure as Council President, we have accomplished many things. School libraries are being refurbished. Volunteers tackle monthly community service projects. We have sponsored music, art, and drama activities. School recreation facilities were upgraded and ball fields are being planned. We respond to issues about parking, graffiti, noise, vandalism, zoning and public safety. We are addressing the homeless problem and the number of traffic incidents on our small side streets. The Council identified potholes to be filled and curb cuts for disabled access. Protecting the environment is a priority. We have a fresh new website and a lively Facebook presence. The credit belongs to the entire Council and the Los Feliz community. If elected, I plan to continue this important work with renewed and strengthened partnerships. Thank you for your vote.

CANDIDATES FILED:
Randy J Sprout – After owning and running Century 21 Hollywood for 35 years, I am now retiring and want to give back to this wonderful community. I feel my service to make this a safer and more vibrant place to live and grow a family can make a difference.
Jennifer Lao – Los Feliz has a sense of community to it and I want to be a part of the Neighborhood Council to help grow that culture. I’m one of the organizers of Green Space Los Feliz, the team that renovated the Post Office into a more inviting public space. Residents, local businesses, and the City have a lot of shared interests and we can target projects that benefit the community as a whole by working together. I have the skills, knowledge, and drive to create a positive change. We’re all busy and we have a ton of priorities we balance daily. My goal is to be good at what I do on the LFNC so you can rest assure that logical, practical, and thoughtful decisions are being made on your behalf. Together, we can support a system that’s focused on making this world a better place, one community at a time.
Dana Cremin R7_LFNCDana Cremin – My name is Dana Cremin and I am running for a seat in District B. I am running because I love this neighborhood and hope to continue the work I’ve started since being on the LFNC board. As Co-Chair for the Transportation Committee we’re working with stakeholders to identify dangerous crosswalks and areas for traffic mitigation as well as the possibility of bringing a People Street to the neighborhood. Together with the business community we are working to find viable solutions to the neighborhoodâ??s parking issues. As a member of the Public Safety Committee I am committed finding compassionate solutions for the homeless community in Los Feliz. Together with the City Council offices and many interested stakeholders we have created the East Hollywood Los Feliz Homeless Coalition and are actively working to bring working solutions to the neighborhood. My priority remains building on what is already great about our neighborhood.
Kate Brandt R7_LFNCKate Brandt – I’ve been a resident of vibrant, beautiful Los Feliz for over seven years, and an enthusiastic supporter of our parks, restaurants, businesses and schools for even longer. I believe that an informed, engaged citizenry begins with high-quality education, and that a community thrives when we collaborate and communicate with each other. In this era of globalization and new urbanism, Los Angeles has unique economic, cultural and infrastructure challenges and strengths. The LFNC is our opportunity to think globally and act locally – for our city, the environment and the future. My progressive, civic-minded beliefs are grounded in our country’s founding ideals of participatory democracy, justice and a government of, by and for the people. My interest in public service began with participation in high school and college student government, and continues with my charitable and corporate board involvement. I would be honored to be your representative in Los Feliz.
RonZajac_LosFeliz.REg7Ron Zajac – I have lived in many areas of Los Angeles, since moving here 20 years ago, and can truly say that I am very proud to own a home in the most beautiful neighborhood in Los Angeles. My favorite part about Los Feliz is the sense of community that is brought together by all its diversity. I would like to bring together the people that live, work, and visit our community to strengthen its core values and unique character that has always been Los Feliz. I will focus on the following: â?¢ School safety â?¢ Traffic controls through residential areas â?¢ Green spaces/Pet spaces â?¢ PR Communications to grow businesses connecting them with residents and visitors â?¢ Neighborhood watch programs â?¢ Maintaining architectural integrity

Adam_Meltzer_Reg7_LFNC_2014Adam D. Meltzer – I chair the LFNC Green and PROS committees. I am raising my two little girls here, and have a wife and a dog. My community, the air we breathe and the water we drink are all part of an environmental legacy I want to leave for my children. We need to solve issues locally around air and water quality, waste management, and open space for our kids to play and discover the world. As the Green Committee Chair I have organized workshops and supported environmental initiatives. As a leader, I get out in front on important issues. When I believe in an issue I work to support it through consensus and stakeholder engagement and when I oppose an issue I speak loudly. I know what the Neighborhood Council can do.I have spent 13 years in Los Feliz. I love our neighborhood and would be honored to represent District C.
Maya Paley – I love this neighborhood and would like to dedicate my time to ensuring that it continues to be the friendly, diverse, green, and safe place that it is. My goal is to listen to the needs of the stakeholders–you, the residents, the business owners, the youth, the seniors, and everyone in between. Assessing your neighborhood needs and working hard to implement them in an efficient and thoughtful way will be my top priority on the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council. I am a dedicated and motivated advocate and have experience working directly with Los Angeles City elected officials on various projects. I know that I can bring your needs and concerns to the right people in our city government and effectively advocate for you. I am a doer and a team player and I want to work with you and the other Council Representatives to make a difference in our neighborhood.

Chris_LimChris Lim – I’ve lived in our corner of the neighborhood for the last ten years. I count myself lucky. If my wife hadn’t persuaded me, we could have ended up in Silver Lake. To me, Los Feliz is magical. Ours is the very best neighborhood in LA because it is very walkable and culturally diverse. Here, we’re at a meeting point both for those passing through and lifelong residents, for restless singles and settled families, for young bohemians and a button-down police chief, for poor and rich alike. In short, I love Los Feliz and hope that on the neighborhood council I can work to make District D a safe place where all can thrive.
Edward Cosgrove R7_LFNCEdward Cosgrove – I’ve lived in my district for almost nineteen years. For the first five of those years, I was a member of the motion picture industry (IATSE Local 600, International Cinematographer’s Guild), and then I went back to school and became an attorney. I’ve been licensed to practice law for the past six and a half years. I believe that, having lived here for as long as I have, I’m both well-versed in our community needs and able to respond to the wishes of residents and business owners here in Los Feliz. I love this community, and I’ll work hard to see that our interests are well-represented. Being a lawyer helps me, in terms of knowing how to get things done. Being an artist at heart helps me, in terms of understanding what’s important to a young, highly arts-based community, like Los Feliz. Please vote for me! Thanks!
Juan_LongfellowJuan Longfellow – Giving back is an important part of my life and I couldn’t think of a better community to do it in.
Jacob Epstein – I have lived in this neighborhood since 1984 and raised kids here. My friends and I talk a lot about the area, the issues the community faces, and it’s put up or shut up time. I would like to volunteer for the board and see if I can be helpful.

Luke_Klipp_Reg7_LFNC_2014Luke H. Klipp – The Neighborhood Council is one of several ways we as a community have the opportunity to have our voices heard by our elected officials in city hall. I’m running because I’m committed to our neighborhood and want us to be more effective in getting everything from simple things, like improved sidewalks and more street lighting, to grander things, like more open space and improved mobility. Los Feliz is a fun, walkable and welcoming community, and I want us to build on all those things that make this a desirable home and support the continued efforts of our neighborhood to keep improving.

I have been serving my country in one way or another since my honorable discharge from The Gulf War began. Now that we have finally settled down in this lovely neighborhood. In the best state in the country I am proud to volunteer my time once again at the local level to serve my friends and neighbors on issues that we hold dearly. Jose Magana R7_LFNCJosé Magaña – I recently moved to Los Feliz to continue my profession in education as a teacher and education policy fellow for a LAUSD Board Member. Our move has been AMAZING because of our fantastic neighborhood and diverse people. I hope to use my love for our community and education, as well as my various experiences, to continue to make Los Feliz a better place for all impacted by education. I will use my experience as an educator and community organizer to reach out to parents, teachers, and administrators to identify what their needs and wants are. I also want to collaborate with businesses and educators to highlight students and their efforts and to raise money to additionally supplement our schools. As the proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I would be honored if you voted for José Magaña on April 12th from 10 am to 4 pm.

Mark_Mauceri_Reg7_LFNC_2014Mark F. Mauceri – As LFNC’s Recreation Representative, here’s some things I’m proud to have helped make happen:
• Riverside Soccer
Now designated “Youth Priority” enabling programs for L.A. Recreation & Parks, AYSO, Hollywood FC, and a Tennis & Soccer Camp; kids by day, adults at night.
• T.S. King Middle School
The “Turf” was once declared “off limits,” now over 200 local kids play both Fall and Spring soccer. In the gymnasium, we renovated backboards, safety padding and benches giving Los Feliz its only public team basketball court for games and practices.
• Griffith Park Baseball Fields
They’re now a fully funded project, with blueprints and a construction timetable.
• Silver Lake’s Lasorda Field
Closed for the 2013 baseball season, city officials said it would be ”impossible” to open. We found “possible.”All were deemed unlikely, but in a cash-strapped city, “no” just means try harder. With your vote, I’ll keep trying harder to make “impossible” possible.
