Sandy Hubbard

Sandy Hubbard has lived in Valley Village for the past 12 years and is currently employed for a magazine publishing firm.

It has been my pleasure to serve Valley Village on the NCVV Board for the past two years. I am committed to maintaining the unique character of “our Village,” and look forward to continuing work with other board members to maintain the unique housing stock mixture available to our residents as well as addressing quality-of-life issues that arise due to changing economic circumstances or governmental policies.

Our recent work has led to the development of the Valley Village Vision Committee, which allows us the opportunity to explore possibilities for the future of Valley Village. I would be honored to once again have the opportunity to serve our community in this capacity.

Jay Werner

I have lived in and been a homeowner in Valley Village for over 21 years. I care deeply about safe neighborhoods and quality of life. I believe we need to work on responsible planning and development, transparency in utility service and billing, and sound walls for Valley Village. If elected I will work hard to improve Valley Village for all our stakeholders.

Jeff Walker

I am an attorney and longtime homeowner in Valley Village. My family and I have lived in the community for more than 20 years, and for the past several years I have had the privilege of serving you as a member of the board of Neighborhood Council Valley Village. I am currently the chair of the NCVV City Services Committee and am committed to continuing the council’s work to preserve and improve the wonderful community in which we live, to facilitate the delivery of municipal services, and to act as your liaison to the City of Los Angeles. I would appreciate your support for my re-election to the NCVV board.

Thank you.

Michelle Peacock

Valley Village has been my home for 30 years. My business background is in multi-media production and distribution, marketing, creative, promotion and digital asset management. I’m currently EVP, Business Development for Digital Media Services. My husband is a music/TV producer and we enjoy living in Valley Village very much.

My focus will be in keeping property values high, safe streets, schools, businesses and community services. I will seek the community’s input to prioritize issues on their agenda, not mine and work hard for solutions. I believe in community leadership and in continuing the prestige and success of Valley Village.

I am a founding member of the Music Video Producers Association, The Music Video Association and Women in Film, and a voting member of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences).

Dana Landis

I am a homeowner in Valley Village and am invested in the improvement of our community. I have experience coordinating health programs in public schools Chicago, domestic violence prevention programs in Santa Cruz, and student programming at UCLA. I am currently heading R&D for a talent consulting firm in Century City. I would like to apply my diverse experience in the service of improving our growing community.

I take running for a NCVV Board Seat as a Renter very seriously.
I have lived in the San Fernando Valley for more than 25 years. I have spent most of those years advocating for the valley’s voice.

I am committed to help improve, build and create a stronger neighborhood community for all stakeholders in Valley Village.

Crime, graffiti and Neighborhood Watch are important issue to me, as well as many stakeholders in the community.

I will advocate for all Valley Village stakeholders.

I want to help make a difference in our community

Paulette Stokes

Over twenties years have passed since I first moved to Valley Village in order to be closer to where I worked at Universal Studios and I’ve never regretted the decision because it had a charming “Norman Rockwell” ambience that reminded me of my home in Aurora, Illinois. As a resident and artist-business owner, I have taken pride in my community where I have created a homelike environment for my rental unit, involved myself with establishing “Neighborhood Watch” for the safety of our cul-de sac, working with my landlord for better carport/washroom lighting, initiating the posting of “Trespassing Signs,” attending “TreePeople” events for “Eco” Landscaping/Composting, familiarizing myself with our local Police Department, and creating a “Tenant Quarterly Bulletin” that keeps “Tenants” up-to-date with property management compliances and home safety tips. Because I love my home, neighborhood, and Valley Village, committing to city improvements will be my goal.

As a homeowner and owner of a family-run business that has been serving the Valley Village community since 1987, I have a vested interest in the future of our neighborhood. With a bachelor’s degree in Business and master’s degree in Real Estate Development, I feel uniquely qualified to serve the community on our Neighborhood Council Board. I will bring fresh perspective while adhering to the fundamental principles that make Valley Village the wonderful community it is today. Thank you for your vote

Charles Sulahian

Dear Stakeholders and friends,
I’m honored to represent you once again for a second term as your business representative.
My first term was a learning experience for me and would like to carry what I have learned into a new term and “serve” you even better.
Im vested heavily in Valley Village as I have made many friends through my long ownership of Marie et Cie. I love valley Village as our neighborhood, it is unique and inviting to homeowners, renters and businesses alike. I am blessed to have created the same caring loving atmosphere in my shop.
I ask that you elect me as your Business Representative and will be proud to serve in improving this gem of a small city in any way that I can.

Sincerely,
Charles Sulahian.

As an educator for many years, I feel qualified to run for the office of Valley Village Council’s educational representative. The teaching bug started in graduate school at UCLA, where I was a teaching associate.  After graduation I started teaching for the LACCD in several colleges before being tenured at ELAC. I also earned my doctorate in education from USC while tenured.  Upon moving to the Valley, I became an adjunct at LAVC.  Currently, during the school year, I also serve as a mentor in the Korah LA reading program, going weekly to a local elementary school. In addition, I still am a state science fair judge.  Therefore, I feel very connected to the school system and will work for the Council to that end.

Cathy Flynn

I love Valley Village and have been a homeowner here since 1995. I enjoy knowing all my neighbors and being actively involved in my community.

I currently serve on the NCVV board as a homeowner, but due to my 14 years of active involvement at Colfax Charter Elementary School, I feel that I am already fulfilling a service to the community in the area of education. Besides being a frequent volunteer, I am presently PTA Co-VP of Communications and on the School Site Council. I started volunteering when my 16-year old daughter was 2 years old. She and my 11-year old daughter have graduated from Colfax and my son is now in the 1st grade.

I would like to serve as an information conduit between the community and private schools like Oakwood and The Country School, Valley Village’s many religious schools, local preschools, and of course our fabulous public schools.

At-Large Representative B
Term: 4 years
1 Elected Stakeholder who either lives, works, owns property or declares a stake in the Valley Village neighborhood and affirms a factual basis for it and who is 18 years or older. Stakeholders who either live, work, own property or declare a stake in the Valley Village neighborhood and affirm a factual basis for it and who are 18 years or older.

It has been my goal to keep Valley Village a wonderful, liveable environment; and to promote its prosperity while maintaining its “village feel.” I have been the President of my condominium Homeowners Association for 20 years, a neighborhood activist and served as a Planning Commissioner for West Hollywood. I have a deep interest in Planning and Land use issues and creating a sustainable city that is responsive to the needs of its residents and businesses. I take serving in this voluntary position veryseriously and ask for your vote.

Let’s join to repair the damage done by previous City Councilpersons and join to insist that our Councilpersons (current and future) listen to and act upon the recommendations of the community they represent.
