Neighborhood Councils are a vital element of grassroots democracy in our city. As a Neighborhood Council co-founder and past President of the Del Rey Neighborhood Council, I know firsthand the challenges and opportunities that face our community.

In January 2012, I was appointed to fill the unexpired term for the At-Large Affirmation seat on the Westchester-Playa Neighborhood Council. Since that time, I have also served as Chair of the Government Affairs Committee and as a member of both the Budget & Finance and Airport Relations Committees. Additionally, I currently serve as Vice President of the LAPD Pacific Division Area Boosters Association, a 501c(3) organization that supports the LAPD Pacific Division.

I reside in Playa del Rey and am the proud father of two sons, Matthew, in the U.S. Army, and Daniel, a college sophomore.

I ask for your vote on October 28th – together, we can make a difference.

John Loizeaux – District Seat 6

I am currently the District 6 representative and have been for 3 years. With my three years of experience on the neighborhood council, I have the background to help get things done in our residential district.

Karen Stone – District Seat 14

I have lived in Playa Vista for 6 years and have owned a successful business for the past 19 years. I have been active for years in helping people, children, and animals through Charity Work and I know I can be a tremendous asset on our Neighborhood Council in bringing the same business, sales, and people skills to our Community. My passion lies with helping Children, Animals, and to help increase revenue for the Businesses. I have many ideas to help bring our Community closer together, and to take our Neighborhood from Ordinary to ExtraOrdinary!!

Gregg Aniolek – District Seat 2

Hello All! A little background on myself, I migrated west from the New England states back in 1999 and made my home in Playa Del Rey in 2005. I have a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering so my engineering knowledge and problem solving ability can be a great asset to the community. I have taken the 7 week Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course with the LA Fire Department. During a disaster, the number and scope of incidents can overwhelm emergency services. This valuable course is designed to help protect yourself, your family, your neighbors and your neighborhood in an emergency situation. Finally, I spend a lot of time in Playa Del Rey since I have a home office here and I bike frequently around the neighborhood. My frequent trips around PDR keep me up to date with what’s happening.

Alexandra Bissonnette – District Seat 4

The Playa/Westchester neighborhood is a nook of LA that I have come to understand as something truly special. It is unlike any other neighborhood in Los Angeles. It is my love of this community, and my drive to help shape it for the future that has compelled me to run for neighborhood council. I am running because I want to ensure that our community’s interests are represented as our neighborhood develops. Additionally, I want to engage all residents in an effort to help our community achieve its fullest potential. My background as a teacher and my current position at an organization that engages in community organizing has given me a grounded understanding of the ability of individual community members to improve their neighborhood. In running for this position, I hope to work with the residents of Playa and Westchester to honor and improve our community as a whole.

Christopher Baker – District Seat 6

I have lived in Westchester for over 40 years and am well aware of the historical issues which have always been in the forefront of our community, viz. LAX expansion, Hughes fields property development, LMU growth, crime and school performance.

My local area lacks a candidate as of this writing, so I will hopefully be able to fill it.

Matthew Parrish – District Seat 10

As a life long resident of Westcher. I want to be representative of residential District #10. My platforms are two fold. Senior Citizens need better representation. The people of Westchester need a public facility, where they can engage in activities.
I am 19 yeras old, attending a local college, but still have time to address the needs of the community. Currently, I volunteer for, Heal the Bay, Upward Bound and tutoring students at local schools. Thank You very much for your time. I am asking you for your vote on October 28th.

Denny Schneider – District Seat 12

Thomas Flintoft – District Seat 8

My wife and I have lived in Kentwood for the past 21 years and sent our children to Kentwood Elementary and St. Anastasia. We plan on retiring and enjoying Kentwood for a long, long time. I plan on continuing to serve the community in many capacities and as a neighborhood council member if the stakeholders of Westchester/Playa will allow me. Some of my community service has been as a Parent Liason for the refurbishment of Kentwood Elementary School, Past Chair of the LAX Coastal Area COC, former member of the Playa Sunrise Rotary and in my current position as a NC Board Member. I would be honored to serve another 4 years on our Neighborhood Council.

Jennifer Stonerock – District Seat 12

I am a married mother of four who has raised my children in this school district, had them involved in the Westchester Park programs, and the YMCA. I have 20 years of Human Resources experience working for nonprofit and for profit businesses. Employees are what make a company successful and residents are what make a city flourish. I appreciate our cities diversity and embrace what it has to offer, while understanding the complexities of the many needs. Though I have never held a city council seat before, I am confident that my conviction to communicate our community needs will be represented at the appropriate times. In doing so, I will need your participation, your voice, and together we will continue to build up and protect our community.
