My Candidate Statement is really very clear. I want to make a difference in my neighborhood. I desire to bring the people who live near my home sanctuary…. closer, more well informed, and more participatory. I desire to make the streets more beautiful, and special to all of those living in NorthHills West.

Debra Francisco

From 1976-2004 I was the adm/asst to the President & Vice President of a national air conditioning company. I was also the office manager as well as human resources and customer service. With my background in office management and my administrative skills, I believe I would be an excellent candidate. I would be fair, honest and represent the stakeholders as such. I want to ensure that our community retains the excellent quality of life that we appreciate here.
I feel I can represent this if elected to the council.

Marina Adlivankina

As a new homeowner in North Hills West, I am enthusiastic to get involved with my community. I want to give back, learn about the issues that affect the area and meet those living in my neighborhood at the same time.

I was involved in my community throughout college and enjoyed helping those around me. I currently work with getting college students involved and want to share that with the neighborhood.

I would like to see our neighborhood participate in events such as National Night Out and having annual events. I think I will bring a new energy to the council and appreciate your consideration.

Frank Klein

I’ve lived in the North Hills area for 29 years; 26 at my current address. I’m running to defeat special interests that have taken over our current council. I believe our community is made up of many neighborhoods, and all the neighborhoods comprise our NHW community. I feel that these neighborhoods know what is best for their respective area. A family living in the Balboa/Hayvenhurst neighborhood would not be affected by something happening at Roscoe and Woodley. It is the voice of these neighborhoods that needs to be heard, and that is how I think our council should vote. That is not what is happening now! It has been taken over by non-residents and their friends who have no interests but their own in our neighborhoods. I want to change that. Let’s take back our council and let the voice of our neighbors and neighborhoods be heard again.

Jamie King

My name is Jamie King and I am a resident of North Hills West. I believe the Neighborhood Council members have a responsibility to listen to the people of their community and to represent them fairly and honestly. North Hills is my home and that of many friends and neighbors. I want to be a part of the solution here in our community.

I am a former Rotarian and past volunteer with Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue. During my career in the mortgage industry, I have held several board seats with successful mid-sized corporations. I believe these experiences have given me a strong foundation with which I hope to serve my community as a member of the North Hills West Neighborhood Council.

Your consideration is greatly appreciated.

Laurie Carrigan

I am a local Realtor and Notary Public as well as resident of North Hills for the last 16 years. I have raised 6 kids and have been on numerous boards and committees such as: PTA,AYSO,CYSA,NAGS,Valley United,CAR,SRAR and NNA. I have been featured several times in the Daily News as a local neighborhood specialist and nationally on C.A.R. I believe that communication is key to bringing the youth and the old together to promote a safe and fun environment for all to enjoy.

Deborah Stevens

Hi I’m Deborah Stevens. I am running for neighborhood council because I believe many of the the current members are out of touch with the desires and needs of the community they were elected to represent. I will give a voice to the concerns of the residents of North Hills and I do not have a personal agenda that will influence my voting. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Cal State Dominquez Hills and have recently retired after 30 years of public service at a 911 Dispatch center. Serving the public is my goal in getting elected.

Yvonne Dipre

I care about North Hills West, I have worked with my employer at this address since we moved here May 24, 2004.My wish is that All of Veterans receive at Sepulveda VA quality service, not empty promises and that all persons living in this great community recognize they have a say in how their tax money is spent.I hope to encourge the board to bring in folks from the heat/cold and rain so they may share their thoughts enjoying a cup of hot soup or glass of cold lemonade. It works for me.

Rosemary Hathorne

Robin Tyler

I HAVE BEEN A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER AND ACTIVIST SINCE THE 1970′S. I have owned and produced large outdoor music & comedy festivals. I am working on producing a documentary and although I am semi-retired, still own an International Travel Company for Women.
Since I live in this neighborhood, I think it is extremely important to listen to the will of the people instead of the will of big business or special interests. If elected I pledge to absolutely oppose the construction of a large commercial business at what is supposed to be the residential section at Chase & Woodley. I will also work on other community problems such as speed bumps for cars who race down our streets; keeping our zoning in tack so that we are a residential community, and other issues important to all of us. I pledge that you will have a voice, and that your voice will be heard. I believe in teamwork. Electing me will be empowering you, as I will be working for you.

Ira Hyman

I’m a Valley native and grew up in Sepulveda. I still live in the house I grew up in since the 1960’s.

Nancy Xander

I have lived in North Hills for the last 8 years, and very much enjoy the lifestyle andneighborhood. If I am elected, I will focus my service on protecting the property values, and ensure that the neighborhood remains a great place to live. To the best of my ability, I will listen to the opinions of neighbors, andsupport their views. I would apprecciate your support in order to work for the common good of the neighborhood.

I have been a resident & homeowner in the city of North Hills since 2002. I was the President of my son’s PTA in the city of Hawthorne at Washington Elementary School for 3 years. I am dedicated to this neighborhood because I now have grandchildren who look up to me for my people skills and leadership abilities when facing any situation.
I know I would be an asset to the community because I have a vested interest here. I love working with people who want a change and want to help there community.

Anita Goldbaum

I have been a resident of North Hills Westsince 1966. My employment background is in accounting and the floral industry.

North Hills West is a peaceful residential community. It is filled with families with children and seniors who enjoy the quality of life in this part of suburbia. I want to keep it that way. We need people on the North Hills West Board who have the communities best interest at the forefront of their decisions. I know I could be one of those people.
I would want to raise our community up and not weigh it down with conflict and division. I would work for and in the best interests and concerns of the entire North Hills West Neighborhood.

Rosalina Ceniceros

Mary Armenteros

Janet Gaspard

I am applying for the Resident Board Member position because I care about the community in which I live and work. As a human resources professional for the last 18+ years, I am a seasoned professional with experience working with a diverse group of people and the ability to present, negotiate, collaborate and align people to work toward a common goal. I’m passionate about serving our community and making a difference by serving in any way needed. I’m open minded and believe everyone’s voice needs to be heard and honored. As a stakeholder in the community (as a resident), I have a vested interest in improving our community. My husband and I plan to raise our family and retire in this community. Much appreciation for your consideration.

Anna Dawahare

Having grown up in this neighborhood, left to live in NYC for a decade, and returned here to purchase a home for my growing family, I want to help this neighborhood become the community I know it can be. For me this involves many things from founding projects and programs that foster interaction between neighbors and improve our neighborhood to being an advocate for our neighborhood within the larger district and city government to bring resources that will serve the members of our community and create a sense of community while keeping out businesses that degrade our quality of life.

I believe our community is currently underserved and overlooked within our district, and it is up to us to make our voices heard and bring what we want and need to our neighborhood.

Ellie Hill Reese

In 2009, we bought our first house in North Hills West. I needed to serve my community to make the house, our home. My passion & enthusiasm was noticed; I was asked to run for the Board. I won with the third highest number of votes. My commitment is still 110%. I’ve led outreach, rules, and operational successes. I chair Outreach, Rules & Elections. We’ve done a lot. There’s more to do. A new logo, website, social media, events, cleanup projects and streetlight banner campaign are a good start.I don’t need to fill my days, push a cause. I’m dedicated to change and a natural leader, team player, a “doer”. We welcomed our first son, and I thrive as an advertising/marketing executive. We need to reach residents & get input. Continue the momentum. Put people who can engage community and be advocates of change on our Board.

Tino Julian

I have lived in North Hills since 2006 and have noticed an alarming trend in our community. Special interests have taken over our neighborhood council and this body has supported policies which are detrimental to those that call North Hills their home. It is time for the residents of this community to take control so that the policies this council supports and enacts benefit the ENTIRE community (not just a small percentage of stakeholders).

Most of us moved here because we liked this peaceful residential community. However, if we allow un-checked development, large-scale housing projects and more multi-use “homes” in our community, it will be unrecognizable in just a few short years. While progress is inevitable, it can be guided and should be done with diligence by those who reside here.

That is why I have chosen to run. I would appreciate your support.
