OUTREACH TOOLS FOR NC’S: SOCIAL MEDIA, NEXTDOOR, NEWSLETTERS, AND MORE
1:00 – 2:30 pm (during Session 2)

Coordinator: Ann-Marie Holman, Dept of Neighborhood Empowerment, Public Information Officer

While social media and email might be a part of your everyday personal life, it’s different using these tools as an elected public official, or on behalf of a government agency such as an NC. Learn best practices for creating content and graphics to engage and educate your stakeholders through your NC newsletter and Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor accounts, while meeting standards for accessibility and transparency.

OUTREACH STRATEGIES: ENGAGING AND CONNECTING WITH YOUR STAKEHOLDERS
2:40 – 4:10 pm (during Session 3)

Coordinators: Thomas Soong (Dept of Neighborhood Empowerment, Director of Outreach) & Suzanne Lewis (NC Valley Village, Congress Planning Committee)

Learn different strategies to engage your stakeholders. Tools such as asset mapping, commitment cards, sign-ups, and Swag will be discussed. There will be an opportunity to share and learn the Best Practices from each other and see how different regions throughout the City are engaging their stakeholders.
