The City Council’s Budget & Finance Committee finished their work reviewing the Mayor’s budget proposal for the coming year, and issued a final report, based on recommendations of the Chief Legislative Analyst, for consideration by the full City Council. Read that report here. Thank you to the Neighborhood Councils who submitted letters regarding the 2018-19 City budget, including Sherman Oaks, Los Feliz, North Hills West, Porter Ranch, Woodland Hills-Warner Center, Harbor Gateway North, Greater Wilshire, Lake Balboa, Studio City, and Eagle Rock Neighborhood Councils.

An additional $300,000 on top of the $70,000 originally proposed by the Mayor was recommended for the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, to use to conduct outreach for the 2019 Neighborhood Council elections.

The full City Council will consider the revised budget proposal on this Monday morning, May 21st, starting at 9 AM. If you would like to weigh in on the Neighborhood Council budgetary recommendations – or any other part of the Budget & Finance Committee’s recommendations – please contact your City Councilmember before they meet at 9 AM Monday 5/21. Contact info for all City Councilmembers can be found here.

Here is the Council file (CF 18-0600) that contains the entire packet of budget-related documents the City Council will consider in their May 21st meeting.
