Los Angeles join in celebrating Nelson Mandela Day in Los Angeles!

Join Council President Herb Wesson Jr., Councilmember Tom LaBonge, Councilmember Curren D. Price Jr., and the Los Angeles City Council in partnership with The Wende Museum to join them in celebrating Nelson Mandela Day in the City of Los Angeles.

Councilmember Tom LaBonge the Chairman of the Sister Cities of Los Angeles organization felt the location as homage to Nelson Mandela, our world’s great leader. The Berlin Wall Monument contains ten original segments, and forms the longest stretch of the iconic historical monument outside of Berlin. The very Los Angeles based muralist, Kent Twitchell will paint the image of Nelson Mandela on the wall, joining images of the United States Presidents John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

The celebration will begin with a presentation in the memory of President Mandela at the Berlin Wall Monument in the museum district of Los Angeles July 18, 2014, 9:30am.
