Over 25 people attended the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance’s first Leadership Retreat, which recently took place at the Reseda Neighborhood Council Community Space. The purpose of the retreat was to collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to celebrate and reflect on the NCSA’s first three years’ of work with its members, supporters, and partner organizations, as well as to begin shaping the NCSA’s future and its planning to advance sustainable communities across the City of LA.

The morning began with the community reflecting on how they first got involved with the NCSA, and then lining up from one end of the space to the other so that we could share our reflections together an d celebrate our history.

Next, the group discussed plans and goals for the future and broke out into small group discussions focused on advocacy and policy; events and education; community action projects; and NCSA strategy and leadership/outreach to NCs.

Participants left feeling inspired about the greener, healthier, more resilient and more equitable future of LA! You can learn more about the NCSA by visiting their website , joining one of their committees, or attending one of their upcoming forums.
