Thank you for taking some time out of your busy schedule to vote today. I am the father of four school-age children and a life-long resident of the San Fernando Valley. I have served two terms on the Mid-Town North Hollywood Neighborhood Council and look forward to revitalizing Sun Valley in much the same way as downtown North Hollywood has been.I am currently an independent marketing consultant, with a background in advertising and retail management. If elected, I will do my best to serve your interests as well as those of the entire community. Thank you for your vote.

Lysander Cuevas

I’m seeking appointment as neighborhood council for Sun Valley. My family and I have lived in this community for over 40 years. I’m a graduate of CSULA with a major in Industrial Technology.

I have over 15+ years experience in the financial sector, with extensive background in real estate. I believe our community needs to develop and revitalize entertainment centers. We need to encourage and invite popular stores and restaurants chains to open in our community. Let’s keep our tax dollars in our community versus going to neighboring cities.

There is no reason why Sun Valley cannot mirror neighboring communities such as Burbank and Pasadena. We need to re-examine our present zoning and planning layouts and make it conductive for businesses to want to open and grow in our community. Currently there is a lot of eye sores and blight in our city we need someone that will speak up and question certain business practices and get the community involved.

Erik J. Albrektsen

Samuel D. Palomino

I work for my community, bring my 15 years of experience in the army, to prevent and combt gangs the illegal sale of drugs.

From a group of neighborhood rounds of together with the police sector, to provide security for our family, our only property and is a city free from bad elements.

Mark Mardirossian

I am a devoted person for the cause of doing the right things for the right reasons, stressing the improvement for the quality of life in our community. I have lived for the last 26 years in the sun valley neighborhood, yet I want to see our streets are better equipped with lighting, our community center to be yet developed, and most importantly the safety with all its means for our neighbors and children are my first priority in considering this public service opportunity.

Carlos A. Torres

Gary Aggas

I am applying for the position of Residential Representative on the Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council. I currently serve as the President and want to continue to serve my community. I also serve on the Planning and Land Use Committee and believe that the quality of life in Sun Valley is one of the most pressing issues facing our community. We have several landfills and open pit mines that have or are being filled that will be usable in the future. I will fight to ensure that the future land use will enhance the community.

I have been an active member on the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team for the past 8 years, assisting LAPD/LAFD on call outs as needed, (when deployed to crime scenes, such as accidents, homicides & suicides.) I also serve as a mentor to new students on the team.

If elected I will continue to work hard on a variety of community outreach events. I will also continue to work with the Homeless Coalition Partnership.

My wife, Candy, and I both have science degrees. It seems to relate to my veterinary company I work, selling supplies to veterinary hospitals. Thus, we have a dog, “Popcorn”, and ruled by 3 cats. We like cycling, gardening and hiking. You may have seen candy and I as inspectors for the last 13 years, at your voting polls. We have a passion for the park, living on cantara, across the street from the park. Life offers no guarantees. It is always possible that game-ending events – accident, financial calamity – will subvert our strongest efforts. Still we must act. We are free to choose what to do. I choose to be a voice for each one of you, to improve where we and our families play, and do business together; In a safe and productive city. I ask for your vote, so we can accomplish things together. Thank you. Have a great day!
