I am the Managing Director of Watts Village Theater Company, founded by the late Quentin Drew in 1996. I hold a BA from Cornell University and MFA from California Institute of the Arts. I have managed after-school youth education classes at the Watts Towers Arts Center, and I have hired Watts’ youth as Quentin Drew Memorial Interns. I am also Chairman of Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’ Empowerment Congress Arts & Culture Committee and member of the Education Committee. It is unacceptable that after all this time our young people still do not have the resources they need to become globally competitive, which requires a top-of-the-line education in Math and Science as well as the Arts. I will dedicate by time on the Council to allocating the resources necessary to advance that goal.
