Dennis DiBiase

As an active member of the NC and its committees for over five years, I believe that my contribution to the improvement of the community and representing my neighbors has been a fulfilling and successful effort. I have served on the Land Use Committee as a member and as its Co-chair. I am currently serving as the Vice-chair of the NC. I believe that to truly achieve progress and to properly serve the stakeholders of Woodland Hills, experienced NC members are needed along with new members. With my experience, I can offer guidance to those with less knowledge of the workings of the City. As an Architect by profession, I can continue to provide fair evaluations related to proposed development within the area. As a resident of Woodland Hills for 25 years, I will work to make sure our community gets our proper share of City services.

Anthony Langford

I would like to be considered for the Region Three Council Board Seat.  I intend to use my experience and my education to engage the community on every level.  I have been a resident of Area Three since 2006, and donated time working with people young and old.  If elected I pledge to work with the Neighborhood Council to bring services to our community.  My desire is to make a positive contribution and a substantial impact on the community.  I hope to help things move along; sometimes projects are postponed for lack of someone following through.  I will work for things to get done in an efficient and cost effective manner.  As a community we need to adapt to the current financial situation and prepare for the coming necessities while maintaining services already in place.

Thank you for your support.

Albert Saur

I have lived in Los Angeles since 1955 and in Woodland Hills since 1968. I earned a Ph. D. in physics from the University of Illinois. I am a former employee of Atomics International and of AiResearch Manufacturing. I have worked on developing nuclear reactors as clean energy sources as well as creating and assembling data recording and control systems. I have always been interested in how government works, on the national, state, and local levels. I have been an active member of a political club and have established friendly relations with many local, state, and federal elected officials. I am particularly interested in such local issues as transportation, health care, and land use. I am now a widower. I express my opinions on many issues in my blog, which you can reach at albertjsaur.blogspot.com.

Nancy McLean

I am an active member of the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council serving on the PLUM Committee. My goal is to adhere to the council’s charter of helping to make local government more responsive to the needs of the community.

Terry Stobie

My Name Is Terry Stobie. I am running for this council to help make the voice of the average homeowner heard. My general goal is to make sure that the taxpayers are respected. All to often our elected officials bow down to the unions first and all the special interest’s next. They don’t seem to care about the people that pay the bills. If you are looking for someone to bring more goddies to our area, Im probably not you guy. But if you want someone to challenge their constant attempt to raise our taxes(see the 10% DWP rate raise that our ombudsmen agreeded to) then Im the guy for you.

Brandon Fisch

My name is Brandon Fisch.  I have a BA in Economics and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.  I have a strong background in public policy and planning as well as logic.

I grew up here in the San Fernando Valley, and have lived in Woodland Hills for the past 3 years.   I’ve served on the Board of Directors for my HOA for the past 2 years.  Since I have been on the board, the association addressed issues at an unprecedented pace, and has reached the highest level of reserve funding in recent history.
I have a proven track record for getting things done on my HOA board, and would like to get involved in the local government here in Woodland Hills.  I want to ensure that Woodland Hills remains a great place for both residents and local businesses while getting the attention that it needs from the city.

Joyce Fletcher

I have lived and worked in Woodland Hills for 17 years. I am a current Neighborhood Council Board member and serve as Council Secretary. I am also the Chair of the Community Outreach Committee and a member of Planning Land Use and Mobility Committee. I’m a past Board member of the Valley Cultural Center, the Girl Scouts, Wells Bring Hope and the Valley Women’s Center. My goal is to understand, support and help facilitate the positive goals of the residents. I will work with you to provide a family friendly community where the voices of the residents are heard.

Robert Glucroft

My name is Robert Glucroft and I was born and raised in the west San Fernando Valley. I attended LAUSD and have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Pepperdine University. I have preserved my roots and still reside in Woodland Hills with my wife Lesa and 9-year old son, Ethan. Volunteering in the community has always been part of my life. I have been a LAPD Reserve Police Officer since 1992. I am also very involved in my son’s school, Serrania Charter for Enriched Studies (formerly Serrania Ave. Elementary).
An entrepreneur at heart, I have owned several businesses and have employed valley residents for over 20 years. Currently, I also work as an investigator for an insurance company.
I would like to be the area 5 Residential Representative to participate in the growth of our community.

Dorothy Strackbein Koetz

I have served on the Neighborhood Council for many years and would not want to see some of the real strides we have made disappear.

Peykan Abbassi

I have lived in Woodland Hills with my wife and daughter for the past 23 years and have grown to love and respect this neighborhood. This is a diverse community that promotes healthy families, with social, cultural, economic and environmental vitality, now and for future generations. I will be a suitable candidate for this position because my most distinguishing characteristic is the ability to utilize the variety of experiences I have gained while working with people of different backgrounds, educations and demands. I am an engineer by profession and have been working for the City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works for the past 28 years. I have managed many municipal facility projects as well as projects for improvement of existing infrastructures and new constructions. My experience has given me the ability, insight and knowledge to help create a sustainable community and an environmentally conscience neighborhood.

John Strand

My name is John Strand.
I have spent 48 years in the Woodland Hills area and, 3rd Generation Valley Boy. Both Parents graduated from Canoga High. Grandfather, Mother, Father all worked at Rockedyne. I am devoted to making Woodland Hills a safer place. I am the Public Safety Chair for WHWC-NC for two terms. In addition I am the LAPD Police Community Representative, The Co Chairman of Woodland Hills Neighborhood watch, and a founding member of Homeland Security.
I thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,
John Strand

Eric Nelson

I am a new resident to the Woodland Hills/ Warner Center area. I have owned my house for almost 3 years, but I have lived in the San Fernando Valley my entire life. I am 32 years old and work for the city of Los Angeles as a firefighter/paramedic.

I desire to become an active participant in the decisions and changes that affect my community. I believe our area has the potential to expand socially and to grow economically. The housing and population of the area continues to expand but the amount of new business projects stopped after the Westfield mall.

Other nearby areas have adapted and grown, and it is time for our area to do so as well by expanding and becoming open to new ideas and changes.

Zachary King

I am Zack King and have lived and worked in Woodland Hills for over ten years.  I am running for the Area 4, Business Representative for the Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood council.  As a married father with young children, I feel the Neighborhood Council has lacked representation for families, and young professionals.  Furthermore, I have watched the Neighborhood council consistently put up obstacles for building projects in the area.  With today’s difficult economy, these projects represent much needed jobs for our neighborhood.
My goal as a member of the Neighborhood Council will be to encourage growth in the Woodland Hills-Warner Center area. By working together with current and future businesses and builders, we can continue the modernization of our community, which began with the beautiful remodel of Westfield Topanga Mall.

I will be representing those who want to see Woodland Hills prosper into a contemporary urban habitat.

Matthew Creith

I ask for your vote on the ballot, so that I can continue to make a difference in Wood-land Hills. Having lived here for 11 years and worked here for 20 years, I learned that there are many issues begging our attention. When you become engaged in community service through the Council, you become intimately aware of the multitude of issues confronting the community and city.

For over 8 years I have served the council in a variety of positions and done design and layout work on printed materials including newsletters. Early on, I served for over a year, as Board Vice-Chair and twice as the Council’s City Budget liaison. It has been very rewarding to serve for 8 years as Chair of the Planning Committee (PLUM), one of the most time intensive Neighborhood Council committees, and on the Warner Center Specific Plan Citizens Advisory Committee for 6 years.

William Anderson

Hello my name is Bill Anderson.  It is a privilege to provide you with information on my candidacy for Area 3 Community Based Organizations Representative, a position I have held since 2008.  During that time I have served on a number of committees including Public Safety and Community Services.  I oppose inappropriate development and stand in support of the residents of Walnut Acres in their continuing struggle to preserve the unique jewel that is their neighborhood.  I have owned a home in Area 3 for the past 16 years and am a member of WHHO and an organizer of my local neighborhood watch.  It is my sincere desire to continue to work to preserve the beauty of Woodland Hills, maintain safe streets and ensure the community receives its fair share of city services.  Please vote for me on September 29th so that I can continue to serve you.

I support local community stakeholder involvement in local issues to make Woodland Hills a thriving community.

Heath Kline

I have had the privilege of serving the Woodland Hills community as a Board Member of the WHWCNC for seven years.

During my tenure, I have served as a member and Chair of the Education Committee, and Director of Community Affairs where I solved decades old school-community public safety problems.  I served as Chair of the Streets Services Committee that persuaded the City to pave some of our neglected Woodland Hills streets. I was responsible for the publication and mailing of the NC’s 4-color newsletters and did the same for four other NC’s; saving ten’s of thousand of city taxpayer dollars in the process. I‘ve served on the DWP-NCMOU Oversight committee helping insure reliable water and power while keeping escalating rates in check. I produced the NC’s sell-out televised Senior-Caregiver Education conference. If it’s a big daunting task, the NC’s gives it to me, please give me your vote.

Scott Silverstein

My name is Scott Silverstein. For the last 8 years it has been my privilege to serve as a member and current chair of the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council.

Upon my election as chair we began implementing a series of changes to improve the structure of the neighborhood council.

At the forefront of these endeavors we enhanced or created relationships with neighboring councils, worthy organizations like Kiwanis, Rotary, chambers of commerce, local schools and religious organizations, elected officials and most importantly, you, our neighbor. We need to combine our resources making for a stronger voice when dealing with our elected officials and city departments.

I have diligently served on the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council. I have enjoyed the opportunity you granted me and, with your help, trust and vote, look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve you.

Thank you.
