Anthony Quezada

Born Antonio Quezada growing up in the South Bay Area. From Wilmington Jr. High, 3 Sports Letterman at Banning High School,jointing the United State Marine Corps during  the Vietnam Era (no-combat), Honorable Discharged. Retired from Southern Cal. Edison. Attended 3 semesters at Long Beach City College for Human Social Service. I am eager to become a member of the Wilmington Neighborhood Council Governing Board so that I can use my affiliation with AMVETS post 33 as well as my relationships with Congresswomen Janice Hahn and Mayor Antonio Villaraigoso to support and assist the people of Wilmington. My attentions is to focus on the needs of Veterans, Seniors and their Families with all resources at my disposal.

Gladys Padilla 

I was born and raised in Wilmington. Growing up in Wilmington, my family and I faced many of the challenges that exist today. I know and believe there can be a better tomorrow. In 2009 I founded the Wilmington Environment Community Artist Network (W.E.C.A.N) In March 2012 I and a group of resident organized the first annual Wilmington Woman Month. Currently I’m a member of the Wilmington United and was asked by Congresswoman Huhn to be on her woman advisory board. I’m meeting with executive director of YWCA & establish a Satellite here in Wilmington. My effort is here in Wilmington. I have a vision of the changes. I know are possible in our community.

Anabell Romero

Anabell Romero is an aspiring journalist who grew up in Wilmington and returned home after graduating from UC Santa Cruz. She is currently a graduate student at USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. She is very committed to her community and hopes to bring positive change. Since 2009 she has been Member at Large of the Wilmington Neighborhood Council. She also helped create The Wilmington Wire, a cooperative blog for the community. In addition to graduate school, she works for The California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships as Program Coordinator. She has a fondness for informing people about issues that directly impact their community’s infrastructure. Her passion is driven by the fact that she grew up in a largely Latino neighborhood that continues to be faced with many issues that deplete the quality of life for its residents. Her goal is to trigger dialogue about community issues to help empower residents to bring positive change to Wilmington.
