CANDIDATES FILED:
Tom Meredith As a 24 year resident of Geographic Area 1, I am an active Board Member of the Hollywood Dell Civic Association (HDCA). My experience with the Neighborhood Council system includes serving as Co-Chair Outreach Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hollywood Studio District Neighborhood Council (HSDNC). My accomplishments include organizing HSDNC into 7 distinct districts, an on-going survey to track awareness and perceptions of the effectiveness of HSDNC, new marketing collateral and contributing to the development of a more communicative HSDNC website, and our signature achievement; free WiFi for this economically challenged NC. As a new Board Member of HUNC, I will 1) establish survey-base metrics that track the effectiveness of HUNC, 2) facilitate developing effective sub-committees to vet proposals and potential budget expenditures that are consistent with the HUNC mission statement and 3) to represent HUNC interests to LA City Government for living improvement requests and problem resolution.
Nicole Manzo Hi, Neighbor I am running to be your Area 1 HUNC rep again. Mostly, I just really like the people. It is frustrating that residents seem to have so little control over our neighborhoods and quality of life in Los Angeles. In the long term, I think we need significant local government reform …(I only get 150 words for this.) In the meantime, we on HUNC do what we can. I do not favor any significant increases in density in the Hollywood area until our traffic and infrastructure problems have been improved significantly. Our beloved overlords downtown want to cram in more people now, and cross their fingers and hope that by some miracle, everyone stops driving cars. I think that is reckless and also a great way to make people hate government even more. You deserve better – we all do.

Susan Swan I’m a resident of Hollywood since 1984, and have served on the HUNC Board since we were certified. Over the years I have worked hard to give our community a voice with the City on those issues which affect the quality of our community, and of our lives. I look forward to working further with fellow community members.

Robert Abrahamian I been serving as a HUNC board member and a co-chair on PLUM for 8-10 years. I have created more parking space in my Neighborhood from regular sidewalk parking into angle parking, by doing so it added 18 more parking spaces for the residents. I care for Hollywood deeply, me and my family own Joseph’s Cafe for 35 years and still running.I work with dedicated members of my HUNC board from residential to business, etc…, to create a better living for all.I am a hard worker, father of two boys. Don Paul I have represented renters in area #3 for a few years and wish to continue to do so. Involved in local Franklin Avenue affairs, so please vote, for me, and just for caring enough to vote!
Timothy Jones I have enjoyed living in the Hollywood United neighborhood for many years now and wish to be more involved in the community. Working with others in the neighborhood to communicate concerns to city organization and officials is exciting to me.

Mike Broggie At the invitation of and approval by the board of directors, I have served as Executive Officer and Treasurer for HUNC since May 2012, completing the term for the open Homeowner Representative Area #4 seat. I am now seeking election to the same board seat and position for the new term. A second-generation native of Los Angeles, I have lived in Hollywood since 2003 where I reside with my wife and two daughters. In business, I serve as chairman and president of a Web development firm in Pasadena. I am proud to be affiliated with the HUNC board, and look forward to continuing to support their goals with sound financial oversight and management. I appreciate your vote, and hope to meet you at an upcoming meeting of the Hollywood United Neighborhood Council.
