Jaime Gallo –I live in the San Fernando Valley (Arleta) for more than 25 years. I seen many changes, good and bad, as a property owner and neighbord I am concern about crime, graffity and illegal vendors that leave a trail of garbage on our streets.Vivo en el Valle de San Fernando (Arleta) mas de 25 años. Me visto muchos cambios, buenos y malos pero como dueño de propiedad y vecino estoy preocupado acerca de el crimen, graffiy, y vendedores ilegales que dejan basura en nuestras calles
Henry Ng – I am currently on the Arleta Neighborhood Council as homeowners rep since May 2010. Wish to continue on the ANC in the same capacity. Still active on the Neighborhood Watch groups, Mission and Foothill Police (CPAB) groups plus Parks & Recreation.
Dianne M. Hand – I have resided in Arleta for 39 years and am very attached to our unique community. By running for the Arleta Neighborhood Council I hope to help restore the organization to being a voice for the residents and stakeholders, plus advising our City Council of quality of life issues that affect our residents. For a number of years I have attended the meetings of two Neighborhood Watch groups on regular basis, plus am a member of LAPD Mission Area Community Police Advisory Board. I have been present at most of the Arleta Neighborhood Council meetings for the past four years. In 2012 I was selected as Pioneer Woman of the Year for City Council District 6. It has been my pleasure to attend many civic functions to learn how our City operates and the avenues to explore when attempting to get improvements for our community.
Maria Diaz-Tran – I have lived in Arleta my entire life, almost 40 years now. I was born here, grew up here, and currently reside only a few blocks from my parents who are also lifelong residents. I’ve seen this community at its best and sadly heading towards its worst. Because I wanted to prevent this decline and help bring our community back, I recently joined the Arleta Neighborhood Council. I was voted in as Vice President and am proudly serving in that regard. I have many ideas, goals and projects which I know will help improve our community. I ask that you please support me with your vote and together, we can make a difference in making Arleta a cleaner, safer, and better community for all.Thank You
Raymond Duran – I was born and raised in the city of Arleta. My family has lived in Arleta since 1953. I want to help Arleta to be a great city to live in for all.

Tommy Vinh Bui (PENDING) – I harbor a deep seated affection for the city of Arleta. I feel Arleta is a region that is only just beginning to realize its full potential. I wish to champion and further the vested interests of the city and help cultivate a community of progress and cultural enrichment.I currently split my time between working for the city (Los Angeles Public Library) and volunteer work.I was a Peace Corps volunteer working in education and community development overseas and am now pursuing an advanced degree in Information Systems.Thank you for your consideration.

Alexandar Pena – My “roots” are in Arleta. My grandfather bought a house on Sandusky St in the Arleta neighborhood in 63 or so. My father, myself & all of my siblings went to Canterbury elementary. I played Little League at brandford park. As a stakeholder and resident as well as just a person who cares about our city. I would love to be a part of the Community.
David Sandoval – I have lived in Arleta for over ten years and I want to be active in my community. I have the changes in our community. We are becoming a not nice city. I feel like I can add a great amount help to keep our city safe and clean. I work in Real Estate and have restored and sold many homes in Arleta. I also work a gardening route and clean a lot of our city streets. I think with the right city planning we can make this a safe and productive city.
Sergio Ibarra – My name is Sergio Ibarra and I am running to represent you on the Arleta Neighborhood Council (ANC). As the current President of the Arleta NC, I have worked closely with my fellow board members to improve the quality of life in our Community. I have worked on the following big issues facing Arleta: 1.Fought to reduce crime 2. Advocated for Safe and walk-able streets, 3. Advocated for our fair share of government resources. If elected I will partner with our elected officials to bring badly needed government resources to help achieve our vision of Arleta as a community that is clean, safe, and family oriented. I will work to improve our parks and build additional park space. I will listen to the concerns of residents to beautify Arleta. Cyndee A. Riding – I own 3 properties and 4 child care centers in Arleta. I lived as a single mother of 2 chidren in this community for 23 years after being widowed at the age of 31. I witnessed the need for quality child care in our area from a first hand perspective.In 1997 I was awarded a lifetime grant from the California Department of Education to provide free child care for children of low-income parents. This allows parents to work or pursue their educational goals by removing the high cost of child care as a barrier to their success.I am vested in this community because of the wonderful, supportive stakeholders that aided and assisted me and my children when we resided here. I want to return the benefits that I received by giving back. One way to accomplish this is to serve as your representative on the Arleta Neighborhood Council.
Community Based Organizations Representatives Term: 2 Years 2 Elected 1. Have carried out activities that involve the community stakeholders who reside within the boundaries of the ANC during the last 12 months immediately preceding the election of the Board and who are 18 years of age or older. 2. The organization maintains its principal office or headquarters within the area served by the ANC or majority of the persons affiliated with the organization live within the boundaries of the ANC and who are 18 years or older. Any ANC stakeholder, who is 14 years of age on the day of the election.

Julian Ramirez – Living is San Fernando Valley for the last 35 years, specifically in Arleta City for the last 21 years I am a witness of some areas being neglected and deteriorated. Streets need to be re-paved, side walk trees need trimming, side walks need to be repaired, prostitution is still a problem in our neighborhood and generally safety in our City is not better than yesterday. Arleta citizens lets go for real changes not just reforms.Viviendo en el Valle de San Fernando por los ultimos 35 anos, especificamente en la Ciudad de Arleta por los ultimos 21 he sido testigo de algunas areas olvidadas y deterioradas. Las calle nesesitan ser re-pavimentadas, los arboles en las vanquetas recortados, las vanquetas reparadas, la prostitucion todavia es un problema en nuestra comunidad, en general la seguridad no es mejor que el dia de ayer. Ciudadanos de Arleta bamos por cambios de verdad no solo mejorias.
Margaret Shoemaker –I have lived in Arleta for over 38 years, raising 2 sons that attended local schools. I have been involved in neighborhood watch groups including Branford Neighborhood Watch and the Looky Loos. I am a member of the LAPD Mission Area Community Police Advisory Board (CPAB) and attend LAPD Foothill area meetings as well. I am a past president of the Arleta Neighborhood Council (ANC) and was the chairperson that was instrumental in bringing the ANC to be certified with the city of Los Angeles. I am familiar with the rules and laws that govern neighborhood councils. If elected, I hope to ensure that all stakeholders within the boundaries of the ANC are represented and that their opinions are valued. I will work to give all stakeholders an opportunity to have their voices heard.
Loyce Lacson – I have lived in Arleta for 40 years. I have been active in the Neighborhood Watch program for 25 years, the last 20 years with the Arleta Lookey Loo’s. I previously served on the Arleta Neighborhood Council from May 2010 thru June 2012. Many improvements have been made in our community but, more still needs to be done. I would like to be your representative. Please consider me when casting your vote. Please assist me in keeping Arleta a desirable community.
Faith Based Organization Representative Term: 2 Years 1 Elected Any person who is 18 years or older who belongs to a faith-based organization and attends church services. A faith-based organization shall not be defined as a community based organization. Any ANC stakeholder, who is 14 years of age on the day of the election.

Sammy Vasquez – I am presently serving on the ANC and would welcome the exciting opportunity to serve the Arleta community for another term as the faith based rep.
School Representative Term: 2 Years 1 Elected Any person who works at a school within the boundaries of the ANC or as designated by a school administrator and who is 18 years or older. Any ANC stakeholder, who is 14 years of age on the day of the election.

John Hernandez – As a current member of the Arleta Neighborhood Council I have wore several hats including Vice President and have seen the community flourish through many outside activities. I look forward to working hard for the stakeholders of Arleta over the next 2 years.
Guy Dionne –My name is Guy Dionne I am a candidate in the Arleta Neighborhood Council Election to be conducted on 8, March 2014.I am a small business owner (Electrical Contractor) with an address in Arleta.Ihave been in the Council Program since its inception in 1999.I was a member of the ANC formation committee in 2001-2002 and did most of the outreach for that committee.From 2002 until 2010 I served on the Council as an elected official.I served as the community improvement committee chairperson and was responsible for the modernization for the Woodman shopping center, also for the tree planting project on the Van Nuys Blvd, Branford St, Osborne St, and Terra Bella.I believe in this community one hundred percent, and if elected again I will work on your be-half to make this community a better place to live,Respectfully

Salvador E. Guerrero – I am a property owner in Arleta and I can see that the neighborhood is not getting the attention it deserves. I will bring a fresh approach.
Joy Bizar – Joy Bizar is a businesswoman who built her own corporation and also worked tirelessly to help other across the United States establish businesses of their own. She has served on the Board of the Arleta Chamber of Commerce as President. Joy worked in the early days to help establish the Arleta Neighborhood Council and has served as both Secretary and Treasurer. She moved to Arleta in 1955 as a child, and went to the schools here. It is because of her love and concern for Arleta that she is again running for the Board.
Max Foster – I have been a resident of Arleta since birth. I have always taken great pride in serving my community whenever possible, which is why I jumped at the opportunity to run for a seat on the Arleta Neighborhood Council (ANC.) As a Firefighter for the Federal Government I have learned the importance of working together to serve the community. I know those leadership and fellowship skills will be a valuable asset to the ANC and its stakeholders. I have enjoyed taking an active role in the community as a volunteer for the handicapped, youth, and clean up programs. With your support I hope to reduce wasteful spending, and decrease the amount of time squandered in our monthly meetings. With your vote we can work together to make this council an effective speaker box that allows all of our stakeholders to have a voice in this arena.
Luis Sencion – As a member of the ANC I want to continue helping my community impower itself and serve a rightful purpose. I feel like I have the time, energy, and knowledge to help my community.
Elizabeth Robles – I would like to join Arleta’s Neighborhood Council because I would like to be involved and informed on what’s going on. Our community is bright and open so I would like to unite them more and join. Also, I can include my ideas and contributation to the group as well to continue improving our community.

Youth Group Representative Term: 2 Years 1 Elected Any person who works with a Youth Group that is located within the boundaries of the ANC and services the youth that live within the boundaries of the ANC and who is 18 years or older. Any ANC stakeholder, who is 14 years of age on the day of the election.

Youth Representatives Term: 2 Years 2 Elected Any persons who is between the ages of 14 and 17 and resides within the boundaries of the ANC. A youth representative that turns 18 during his/her term shall be allowed to finish that term. Stakeholders who live, work, own property, or declare a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder and who are 14 years or older.

Brittany Gomez – As to become a member of a Nieghborhood Council I want to help my community better, seeing my community has a lot of problems that may be resolved by ideas of a person thats lived here my whole life. I want to help and give ideas on how to make the community betters for everyone. I just would like to be someone to try to make my community the best I can.
Maria Mejia – I want to be involved in my neighborhood council to make a change or to be aware of what will happen. I need to know what happening in my community. I want to be involved in my community in every possible way. And this will be my first step.
Sydney Rodriguez – I would like to be part of the Arleta Neighborhood Council be I want to contribute to my community. This is an opportunity for me to be aware of what is going in my neighborhood and what I could do to help.
Daniel Orozco – As an Arleta resident for most of my life , I wish to to do all I can to give back to the community.
