The City of Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment is excited to offer a leadership program
designed for youth and young adults aged 14-24.

Civic Youth Leadership Academy is a program designed to educate, engage, and empower young people
to take active roles in your communities and speak up on issues that matter to you.

As a civic leader, you will be prepared to actively participate in your Neighborhood Councils and the
greater Los Angeles community with other like-minded young people from across the city.

Summer 2020
9:30 am– noon for 6 Monday Sessions:
June 29th
July 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th
August 3rd

Civic Youth will take place at City Hall in Downtown Los Angeles.

Application Deadline: May 29th

Decision Notification: June 8th

Session 1: June 29th
Session 2: July 6th
Session 3: July 13th
Session 4: July 20th

Session 5: July 27th*
Session 6/Culmination: August 3rd*

*Session 5, July 27th will take place at a service-learning site; students will be placed based on their home address.

*Session 6, August 3rd is a Culmination ceremony at City Hall. Parents/guardians are invited and encouraged to attend.
