It is time to shake up the status quo.
Government service has received a bad reputation recently and many stakeholders have avoided engaging with local government. This allows the elected officials (and those who contribute to their campaigns) to largely do whatever they please. The time is overdue for citizens to reengage with City government.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of stakeholders do NOT know that neighborhood councils exist and how to engage them to address important quality of life issues. I look forward to outreaching more in the foothill communities to let stakeholders know that the neighborhood council exists and how to utilize it to improve life for everyone.
I look forward to making sure that the City does its best work on behalf of the stakeholders.
Remember: If you do not participate in the decision making, someone else will make the decisions for you. Democracy does not run on autopilot.

My husband and I are residents of Lake View Terrace since 2015. We keep two quarter horses on our property and are fortunate to live in a community where we have the natural beauty of the Angeles National Forest surrounding us and access to the many trails available in the Hansen Dam Recreational Area. Lake View Terrace is a unique area in Los Angeles. I am committed to working hard to get the promised Sound Wall installed on the 210 FWY, to stop the deadly street racing on Foothill and Osborne, and to protect our horse keeping property rights from being lost to unrestrained development in our community. At the same time, I will promote the growth of our local businesses and the prosperity of our residents. The City of LA needs to hear from us, as do the County and State elected officials who are tasked to protect our community.

I have been a resident of Lake View Terrace for 37 plus years, during this time I have seen our community raising children, having block parties, and other community activities.

Our son grew up here along with many neighborhood children, at that time the community was very safe and prosperous with hard working residents.

In the last 10 years we have seen a decline in safety and increasing crime. I would like to be consider to be a member of FTDNC board to have an opportunity to make a difference in our community. I retired from the City of Los Angeles with 34 years of service, during this time I was an employee of LAPD-DOT, during the 1995-1996 I was involved in the Orcas Park issues regarding overcrowding, visitors from out of our community. I was charged with posting NO STOPPING ANY TIME TOW AWAY signs on Foothill Blvd. from Orcas to the Foothill overpass.

Thank you in advance for any consideration given to this request.

I’ve lived in Shadow Hills since 1993 and have previously served on the FTDNC and currently am on the Shadow Hills Property Owners Assoc. Bd. (immediate Past President and newsletter layout editor).

My biggest concern is losing our open space to developers and private parties who want to build additional structures of their land, thus, forever destroying horse keeping rights and our community character.

There are several issues that negatively affect us: Homelessness (especially encampments in severe high fire hazard areas), street racing, illegal fireworks, property crimes, and crimes against a person.

During my previous tenure on the FTDNC, I made some unpopular decisions/votes because I felt that the item(s) presented was not in the best interests of the community. In other words, I don’t just go along with the majority because I fear resentment or reprisal. I think it is healthy to have meaningful contrary views discussed.

I love living here and want to help our communities.

The Neighborhood Councils were designed to work with City Council to voice the communities concerns, ideas and suggestions.

My participation on and off during the years has contribute to address many issues such crimes, community issues, school issues and have created a great relationship with many entities.

I believe I can continue to work with the communities, work with schools, parks to make it a· better place for all of to grow older.
