Jose Felix Cabrera Larios – (Certified)

Por los ultimos 20 años, me he dedicado al servicio de la comunidad de Mac Arthur Park. He participado y organizado bancos de comida, limpiezas de calles, mejoramientos de los parques y jardines comunitarios. Además, he tornado un papel importante en la abogacía de derechos de inquilinos. Quiero mantener la comunicación con las escuelas y organizaciones comunitarias dentro la comunidad de MacArthur Park para poder trabajar juntos en educación y vivienda. Me interesa ser una fuente de ayuda a la comunidad para poder apoyar a las familias en mantener sus viviendas ya que en estos momentos hay un alto numero de desalojos. De esta manera podre ser parte del esfuerzo en reducir el alto número de personas viviendo en la calle.

Hola, soy Gabriel. Tengo 24 años, soy Mexicano, y soy de Elysian Parque. Ahorita rento una casa con 4 compañeros en la 6ta y Coronado. Amo la comunidad que encontré aquí: mis vecinos y vecinas, la comida de la calle, y el basquetbol en Lafayette.

Estaba en mi Concejo Vecinal local, HCNC, cuando tenia 15 años. Hoy soy un miembro orgulloso del sindicato de inquilinos. Los quiero ayudar asegurar que los cambios que vengan al vecindario solo sean para el beneficio de la comunidad, y que tengamos los mejores servicios posibles.

Hello, I’m Gabriel. I am 24, Mexican, and from Elysian Park. I currently rent a house with 4 roomates on 6th/Coronado. I love the community here: my neighbors, food vendors, and Lafayette basketball.

When I was 15 I served on my local Neighborhood Council, HCNC, and am now a proud member of the LA Tenants Union. I want to help make sure that the only changes that come to the neighborhood are those that benefit the community, and help us get the best services.

Andrew Wolff – (Certified)

     I am a licensed architect with expertise in multi-family housing and I’ve been an affordable housing advocate and a resident of this neighborhood for over two decades.
As you know, our community is facing significant challenges at the street level, including homelessness, drug-related issues and crime. I vividly recall a day at MacArthur Park when I was taking my five-year-old son to the playground, and an unhoused woman kindly cautioned us to ‘Watch out for
needles on the ground when you play.’
As a board member of MacArthur Park Neighborhood Council, my primary goal is to contribute for a safer and cleaner environment for all residents and visitors in our neighborhood. To achieve this, we must stand united and ensure that our voices are heard when the city and outside developers make decisions and policies that affect our community. I firmly believe that a robust neighborhood council which can negotiate toe to toe with these interest groups is the key to realizing this vision.

He estado activa en la comunidad de MacArthur Park desde hace aproximadamente 20 años atendiendo las diferentes necesidades de nuestra comunidad, me estado capacitando en Derechos del Inquilino, asi como en Salud Mental, violencia domestica, colorimetria; tambien soy promotoda de salud de Esperanza Housing Community, Nos hemos capacidatdo para responder a travez de cartas a los propietarios de edificios que acosan, a los inquilinos o bien no hacen las correspondinetes reparaciones a los residentes cuando se lo solicitan,entre otros servicios.
Participamos en difrentes organizacciones, no lucrativas ademas de estar sirviendo en el Concilio Vecianal de MacArthur Park desde las posiciones como Secretaria  Ejecutiva, Vice-Presidente, Presidente y Tesorera.
Hemos realizado 9 Ferias informativas sobre los Derechos del Inquilino ademas de limpiezas comunitarias, entre otros servcios de interes en la comunidad.
